Chapter Seventeen
Opening my eyes to a bright Monday morning, I reached my hand over, tapping the snooze button and rolled over.
Ten minutes later I was interrupted by mum.
"Cory!" mum shouted when she opened the door.
"What?" I groaned into the pillow.
"Get up!" she ordered.
"But I don't want to!"
"You have school!"
"School's lame."
"But Lily's there..."
I turned my head to the side, looking at her, and furrowed my eyebrows. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"You know exactly what I mean."
She left me laying in bed feeling puzzled.
What did she mean?
"Hey Cory! How did things go?" Tristan asked me as I arrived at my locker.
"What?" I asked.
"You know, the things you had to help Lily with?" he stated.
"Oh... quite good actually... I have something to show you."
"Okay..."
Grabbing my wallet from my back pocket I flipped it open and took out the ultra sound picture.
"So that's where you went!" Tristan exclaimed as everything seemed to click together.
"Yeah."
He took the picture off me and studied it, a smile warming on his face and he made eye contact with me.
"What?" I asked.
"You keep it in your wallet," he stated.
"And there is one on my bedside table too."
"You really care about this baby don't you?"
Dropping eye contact and staring at the ground, a small smile lifted the corners of my mouth up. "Yeah, I really do."
Brown locks bouncing at another locker filled my vision.
"Hey, Tristan, I'll see you later," I said, not breaking eyes with my target.
Walking down the hall and over to the locker.
"Hey Lily," I said.
She turned around, a bright smile on her face.
"Morning Cory," she greeted, grinning.
"How are you this morning?" I asked.
