A/N: No, skk do not divorce

Divorce was such a funny concept.

One day, two people are very much bound to each other by their love and devotion, plus the various legalities that accompany the concept of marriage. They share the same name in a lot of cases, they live together, they have a certain right to each other's materialistic possessions.

Then a few stamped papers later, they were completely separated, the string that tethered them to each other, snapped. They reverted back to using their maiden names, and in most divorce cases, ended up taking possession of a part of their ex-partner's money or property and such.

Unless they chose to, they had nothing to do with each other.

Divorce was a tricky concept.

The consideration of pre-nuptial contracts, fighting for shared possessions in court, arguments over children and child support; it was all a huge mess that divorcees went through. Hence, why they required lawyers specialising in this very matter for their court cases.

Dazai Osamu just happened to be one of the rather well-known divorce lawyers in Yokohama. He was a rather interesting man. For one, he was constantly seen joking around and asking his female clients if they would like to commit a double suicide with him, once they were free of their partners and that marriage.

As expected of a person who deals with harsh divorces every day, and has been doing so for the last few years, Dazai didn't seem to have a partner himself, or even believe in the concept of love and by extension, marriage. It was expected, really. After all, his job was to ensure his clients walked away from their marriages without losing anything materialistic. As for the glorified broken hearts; well, that was something a lawyer can do nothing about.

The lawyer was not ugly by any means. In fact, many would claim that he was very gorgeous, with his tousled hair and his brown doe eyes. A lot of his female, and sometimes male, clients sought to go out with him once their divorce was finalised. But the lawyer was known for always turning them down.

Everyone pretty much credited his pessimism towards the concept of dating to the nature of his job. It's just natural that a person dealing with divorce every day would prefer to steer clear of anything related in his personal life.

Anyway, if Dazai was one of the top divorce lawyers, his rival in the industry would happen to Nakahara Chuuya.

As another top lawyer in the city, Chuuya's professional etiquette was completely different than that of his rival's. For one, he dealt with his clients with utmost professionalism, only talking about their case in his office. He tried his very best to fulfil his clients' requests when it came to the divorce case in court.

As for any personal conversations, he tried to usually steer clear of them. It was a known fact that Chuuya was drop-dead gorgeous. There was no doubt about it; the man was absolutely beautiful. Hence, it was no surprise that he was constantly hinted at for relationships by his clients

But interestingly enough, Chuuya was very vehement in never accepting any confessions or proposals. In fact, he even appeared to be a little spooked whenever someone as much as hinted that they would like to meet him outside his lawyers' office. Nevertheless, he always declined politely, saying hat his present life was more than enough for him.

It was just assumed that like most divorce lawyers, Chuuya would rather be single.

Their clashing personalities aside, both the top divorce lawyers in Yokohama were very good at their job. Of course, they were best for a reason. It was also unsurprising that they found themselves fighting each other in court quite a lot. No, really.
