Chapter 37. Enemy

Yuzuki was out for three hours. It would have been more had it not have been for Naruto, who jumped on her to get her up. "GAH!" She sat bolt upright, banging her head on Naruto's in the process. The girl rubbed her bruised forehead and cursed the boy. "Haven't you learned not to jump on someone in their sleep?!" She slapped him on the back of his head and he grumbled something under his breath, hopping off the bed.

"We told you gently Naruto!" Sakura pounded her fist into his cheek, causing him to fly back into the wall.

"What's going on?" She mumbled, wiping the dried drool from the corner of her lips. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she slipped off the bed while yawning.

"We think the 'leader' of this village is an actual person in disguise." Kiba informed, stepping forward.

"What do you mean?"

"With my Byakugan, I was able to tell that the leader wasn't a man. In fact, it was a woman. D-do you think it could be your mother?" The Hyūga girl asked.

"It could be, I'll have to see for myself."

"What exactly are you saying?"

"I'm saying, it's time to confront the enemy," she crossed her arms over her chest, a determined look on her face. The others nodded, knowing that there wasn't much more they could do.

"Alright, everyone prepare. And Yuzuki, can I have a word with you?" Everyone began preparing for the confrontation, grabbing weapons and scrolls.

"What is it?" The girl asked as Kakashi closed the door behind them in the next room. The silver-headed man stood before her, a look of seriousness in his onyx eye.

"Are you going to be okay?"

"Sure I will."

"No, are you prepared to fight against your mother? Because the last time you fought her, you froze and Neji was injured." A guilty look crossed the young ninja's face and she gave the man a pained smile.

"Don't you worry about me. I'll be fine." Kakashi didn't believe her, but they had no time left and needed to go.

"Alright, but I'm always here to help you, remember that." The girl nodded, tightening the weapons holster around her thigh and giving him a thumbs up.

Normally, she would not have attacked the leader. But something she caught with her Kin no me had caused her to charge through the window into the office, and a large explosion rocked the building, blasting the glass off of the windows. Out of the smoke came a figure, it was male and his long hair whipped around his face as he fell. He hit the ground, the wind getting knocked out of him. The Leaf Ninja were immediately alarmed and ran to the source of the explosion, finding the man lying on the ground nearly unconscious.

"You!" The silhouette of the young Hatake peered through the smoke, the smoke rolled past her as she stepped up to the edge of the window, jumped down on top of the man, crouching as her feet made contact with the floor, causing small craters to form on impact.

"What are you doing?!" She heard the other ninja shout and pounded a fist into the man's stomach. He coughed, his eyes bulging slightly.

"Reveal yourself!" Her left fist pounded made contact with his cheek, his head snapping to the right.

"You're a perceptive one, aren't ya? Yuzuki." The image of the man faded away, revealing a woman in her thirties, her golden eyes bright, but not activated.
