As Winn and I walked through the farmer's market, hand in hand, I couldn't help but smile to myself.

"Why are you so smiley?" Winn joked as he playfully nudged me, our hands still intertwined.

"I just," I sighed happily. "I feel like we haven't hung out, just the two of us, in so long. Probably since you started working for the DEO."

"I know," Winn said softly. "I'm sorry."

I stopped him from walking, making him look at me. I reached up and cupped his cheek in my hand. "Don't be sorry. I know that you love your job and I know that you're good at it. Winn, I am so proud of you." I stood on my tip toes and pressed my lips to his. I felt him smile into the kiss as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

Winn was the first to pull away. He pressed his forehead to mine as we caught our breaths. "I love you," he whispered.

I opened my mouth to respond, but gasped when there was an ear-piercing scream. Winn pulled me protectively into his chest as people ran by us.

"What was that?" I stuttered.

"I don't know," Winn said, scanning the crowd. When his eyes met mine, he saw the fear in my eyes and let out a sigh. "It's going to be okay. I promise," he said as he placed a kiss on my forehead.

I jumped when his phone started ringing. With one of his arms still wrapped around my waist, he reached into his back pocket and answered his phone.

"Agent Schott," Winn answered making me giggle. He tickled my side and sent me a wink.

I bit my lip when I saw the smile fall from his lips. "Yes, I'm actually here."

There was some silence before he nodded. "Yes, sir." Another pause before he repeated, "Yes, sir. I will." With that, he hung up the phone.

"That was Director Henshaw," Winn hesitated. "He said that there is an alien in the area. He wants me to get everybody clear until Supergirl and the other agents can get here."

"But Winn," I stuttered getting nervous.

Winn gently put his hands on my shoulders when he saw the scared look in my eyes. "Y/N," he said softly. "It's going to be okay, I promise. Everything is going to be fine. But, I need you to get as far away from this area as you can, okay?"

"But Winn," I started to object.

"Please, Y/N." The sudden lowering of his voice and the intensity of his stare made me stop. "I don't know what I would do if something happened to you. I need to know that you are safe. Please."

I gently grabbed his face and pressed my lips to his. When we pulled apart, I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck. "Okay," I whispered.

"I want you to go straight to my apartment, okay? That way I know you will be safe. I'll come get you once it's all over." Winn kissed my forehead before running in the direction everyone was running away from.

I bit my nail nervous as I paced around Winn's apartment, waiting for him to call. I clutched my phone in my hands, debating whether or not I should call him.

When I couldn't handle the suspense any longer, I decided to call Winn. As it went to voicemail, I couldn't help but picture the worse case scenarios.

I tried to take a deep breath and decided to call James. I felt like I was going to cry if I couldn't get a hold of him.

"Hello?"

"James," I let out a sigh of relief.

"Y/N? Everything okay?"

"No," I said trying to stop the tears.

"What's going on?" He asked.

"There was an alien attack in town and Winn got called to help handle it. He sent me to his apartment, where I would be safe, but he hasn't called me. And it's been over an hour, James. I'm really worried about him. What if. . . What if something happens to him? I can't. . . I can't lose him."

"Y/N," he said softly. "Take a deep breath okay? Everything is going to be okay. I know Winn. He's strong and he loves you. He's going to be okay."

I let out a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. "How about this," James said. "Why don't you meet me at the bar? And we'll wait to hear from Winn, together."

I couldn't help the smile that made it's way to my lips. "Thank you, James."

Winn's POV

When I discovered that Y/N was safely out of harms way, I started making sure others were too. It took almost twenty minutes for Kara and the agents to get to the scene, but once they did the fight was over in half the time.

"Thanks for the help Winn," Kara smiled as Alex handcuffed the alien. I smiled at her as I looked down at my phone to see several missed calls and text messages all from Y/N.

"Everything okay?" Kara asked, making me jump.

"Yeah," I sighed. "I was with Y/N when Hank called and I sent her to my apartment so she would be safe."

"I'm sure she's fine," Kara said before she was called away.

I took a deep breath as I called Y/N. My heart dropped when it went to voicemail. I quickly rushed back to my apartment, hoping to find Y/N there.

As I drove home, I couldn't help but think of the worse case scenarios of her getting hurt. "Y/N?" I called out as I unlocked the front door. "Y/N?" I continued to call out her name as I searched the apartment.

It felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. I picked up my phone and tried calling Y/N again, but jumped when I heard her phone ringing. I looked around the apartment and found it on the kitchen table.

"You've got to be kidding me," I sighed. I ran my hands through my hair, trying to figure out what to do. I jumped when my phone started ringing.

"James?! Have you seen Y/N? I'm at my apartment, where I told her to be, but she isn't here and she left her phone. . ."

I was cut off by James' laughter. "Winn, breathe. She's fine. She's with me. She called me, freaking out, so I suggested we go get a drink to help calm her down. She's worried about you, but she is safe."

"Thank you," I let out a sigh of relief. "I'm on my way."

When I walked into the bar, I saw Y/N sitting on a bar stool, talking to James. James noticed me first, sending me a smile over Y/N's shoulder. When Y/N noticed James attention was elsewhere, she followed his eye-line.

Her eyes widened slightly when she saw me walking towards them. She quickly jumped off her stool and ran towards me. I smiled as she wrapped her arms around my neck, with me slightly picking her up. I put her down with my arms still wrapped around her waist. I smiled as she buried her face in the crock of my neck.

"I was so worried," she said softly. My heart sank when I felt a tear fall onto my shoulder.

I put my hand on the back of her head, gently rocking us back and forth. "I'm sorry," I whispered as I kissed the top of her head. "But everything is okay, now. I'm okay."

She pulled away from the hug and pressed her lips to mine. I smiled into the kiss as I wrapped my arms tightly around her waist. She pulled away and cupped my cheek in her hand.

The look on her face made me worried. "You okay?" I whispered.

"I didn't get a chance to say it back before you had to go and save the world." Her comment made me laugh.

"Say what?" I asked.

"I love you too," she said softly.
