B/c: Your Best Friend's Crush
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n's POV
"When are you gonna ask out B/f/n," I playfully asked B/c.
"What is with you?" he replied, looking at me as if I were a monkey hula dancing.
"What? It's kinda obvious you like her."
B/c and I were at the park sitting on the vacant (and old) play structure. Usually, we hang out with C/n and B/f/n too but they couldn't make it to the hangout spot this time. I'm having a fun time embarrassing B/c though.
"Shut up," he grumbled with a red tint on his cheeks.
"Haha, you make it too easy," I stated, pointing out his embarrassed expression.
His annoyed expression turned into a smug grin as he turned to face me.
"If I ask out B/f/n, you gotta kiss C/n," he said.
I laughed in disbelief, "Why?" Just the thought of doing that gave me goosebumps.
"It's only fair. You have a crush on him anyway. "
"And if he doesn't like me back? It'd ruin our friendship!"
B/c thought for a moment, "How about if we win our upcoming basketball game then you have to kiss him."
I thought for a moment. I had faith in them and all, but let's be real: they've been on a losing streak so it's not like they're the greatest team in our district. The odds of them winning are on the lower side.
"Fine," I agreed.
"You better not wimp out," he said.
"Yeah yeah," I replied. "You do know you have to ask out B/f/n whether you guys win or not, right?"
He sighed, "Damn. It's too late to add another condition, huh."
"Yup."
The day of their game came quickly, despite how much time I spent worrying about mine and B/c's little bet.
"COME ON C/N!" I cheered from the bleachers.
So far the score is 45-42 with the other school having the lead.
"YES! GO B/C!" B/f/n yelled from her seat beside me.
C/n scored a 3-point shot, raising the score to 45-45, but there were only 30 seconds left. The other school has the ball in possession and while I hope we win, I also really hope we don't.
Everyone on our side of the bleachers fiercely cheered the boys on. We were all standing and I was leaning forward so I could get a clearer view. My jaw dropped as I watched B/c steal the ball and dunk it into the hoop, winning the game.
Oh my god, they won.
After things calmed down and C/n and B/c left the locker room, we headed to my house to hang out and celebrate their win. The whole ride home I was thinking about how I would kiss C/n and my anxiety built so much I couldn't even remember what we were talking about. I prayed B/c would forget about the bet or chicken out of his side of the agreement.
When we got to my house B/c gave me a pointed look that caused me to groan in response. I guess he did remember then.
He stood from the couch and pulled B/f/n by the arm, "Can I talk to you in Y/n's room real quick?"
She nodded and they walked away, leaving C/n and I sitting on the couch.
"I guess B/c finally grew a pair and is asking out B/f/n," C/n said with a smirk.
"Yeah finally..." I mindlessly fidgeted with my fingers as I debated on whether I should confess before or after I kiss him.
I guess he realized that I was uncomfortable because he then asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just promised B/c something."
He furrowed his eyebrows, "What is it that's got you so anxious? He didn't ask you to do his laundry or something right, 'cause I understand if you don't wanna touch his rancid socks. We all complain about it in the locker room."
C/n trailed off as he noticed that I was in my own realm. I simply hummed in response, but I didn't really hear what he was saying.
"Y/n?"
I broke out of my deep thinking and made eye contact with C/n. As I tried to build my courage, I decided that there was no way I'd be able to blurt out I like him, so I just did the next best thing: I kissed him; like out of nowhere. I know, I know! Way to build it up Y/n, but hey, I had to do it somehow!
"Umm," C/n mumbled as I slowly pulled away, "Should I thank B/c for that?"
I shyly smiled and nodded my head.
"I have an amazing friend," he breathed out before he curled his arm around my waist to pull me closer and kiss me. I put my arms around his shoulders, letting out a small giggle before he kissed me harder.
We both pulled away, maintaining eye contact.
"So how come you promised B/c you'd kiss me?" he asked, keeping his arms tightly around me.
"I promised that if you guys won your game today and he confessed to B/f/n, I'd kiss you," I explained.
"Ohh," he thought for a moment, "Wait, that means you didn't think we'd win since you agreed!"
I laughed as I tried to deny his claim, "No! I had faith, I just agreed 'cause I didn't think B/c would actually confess!"
He rolled his eyes, "Yeah sure."
I sheepishly smiled before scooting closer into his side and pressing a kiss to his cheek, causing his smile to return.
"Aww!!!"
I flipped my head to the voice and saw B/c and B/f/n entering the room, wide smiles on their faces. B/c gave me the I told you so look though, making me glare.
"So, when can we go on a double date?" B/f/n exclaimed in excitement.
