Chapter forty(a)

"Your Majesty what do we do?"

"Enter my library and sit down so that she wouldn't see your shadow"

"Or i should just off the candles"

"Alright do that" he replied while i slid the door behind me.

"Let her in"

"I apologise for visiting this late but we have an urgent problem"

"The General says he has someone he wishes to marry"
"And the wedding is tomorrow"

"Why this late?"
"We have already collected all the grains from the princess"

"The princess will not stand for it" the Queen dowager said.

"Would she want anything else?"

"No she won't accept anything else"
His Majesty sighed.
"What do we do, your Majesty" she probed.

The General's POV.

In the morning i was called to the court session by his Majesty.

"General Moon jae shik hear and obey" the head eunuch said holding a royal edict.
I knelt to receive it.
"For growing up in the palace and being close to the king, you have proven yourself to be loyal and trustworthy, i here by grace you with the title of a prince by appointment and command"
Murmurs erupted from the officials present.

"Your favours are immeasurable"
I said collecting it.

'So this was the way out, the princess can not marry her brother'
I couldn't help but feel really bad for her.

I went to see the Queen mother before the ceremony and while we were talking about how to compensate the princess, she burst into the room.

"Royal mother"
"Oh you were here too"
"How could you do this to me?"
"Royal mother you supported it didn't you"
"You want to see your only heir die" she raged trashing the ceramics on the drawers.

"Child listen to me, calm down"
She walked on the broken ceramics.

"Princess i am really sorry" i uttered as she approached.

"The king, you and royal mother deceived me"

"The king will arrange your marriage to the king of baek je" there was a glint of interest in her eyes after Queen mother mentioned that.

"No i.. i.. will just kill myself"
"Or kill who ever he marries" she mused and turned to storm out.

Yoo hwa's POV.

"Agasshi you have completely lost it" she affirmed as i got ready in a different room far from mine.
I made myself up with the strangest make up, i drew a dark line on my brows, an exaggerated blush and i padded my birth mark with a powder that made it invisible.

"Do i look like myself?"

"Yes"
She really doesn't want to help in any way i see.

"It doesn't matter i am just doing it to be extra careful"

"Are you really going through with this?"

"Yes"

"When his Majesty finds out do you think he would let you off this time?"

"I am not sure, but i have to do this"

"When you return I won't be here"
She is threatening me in the best way.
"Ga yoon will be taking care of you from now on"

"She is your new friend right?"

"Yes"

"And you trust her with me already?"

"Yes" she replied and left.

Walking down the long isle with the General makes me remember our conversation that night.

"Here is the plan"
"Nobody knows what you look like so you can marry me without the veil"
"After the wedding you will disappear"

"Faking my death will be the best"

"I am asking for too much"

"No if it is what General wants no matter what it takes, i will do it for you"

" The bride and groom should bow to each other"
We stood facing each other and bowed deeply.
Tea was served, i took a sip and set the cup back on the tray.

"Your vows"
We turned to face the crowd who stood in line and the royal family who sat by our right.
The General raised his right palm and began.

"I prince Moon jae shik vow to care and protect you till my last breath"
'It is better to make the vows as short as possible' i thought agreeing.
"And i vow to always be someone you can lean on" he whispered word by word staring ahead.

"I Ye jin vow to honour my duties to you till i breath my last"
"And i vow to be by your side as your home and family for as long as i can" i said to his hearing.
