The sound of a metallic sliding door being opened echoed within the room.

Ray: "Huh?"

Surprised at the sudden sound, Ray stopped his movement and looked at the sound source.

Standing there was a girl with long white hair and red eyes.

Ray: "Leila."

Leila: "..."

Calling the girl's name, she instead gave him a silent response.

A sigh left his mouth while he grabbed one of the apple pieces before putting it in his mouth.

As he continued eating, Leila stepped inside the infirmary and headed toward him.

Sounds of her steps reached his ear but he paid it no mind since he was pretty sure that it wasn't something he had to think much of. What was more important was the question as to why was the apple sweet? Has it ever been like this since its founding? if so, how could one even know the meaning behind the word "sweet" if they had only found out about its essence---

After a few seconds, she stopped beside his med bed.

Seeing that, Ray grabbed a bottle of water (that was placed on the table beside him) and drank a few gulps before making a satisfied sound.

Ray: "Alright, then."

He put down the bottle and faced her.

Ray: "What's on your mind?"

His night black eyes met her bloody red's.

Leila: "Mei."

Ray: "Hm?"

That name made him tilt his head a bit.

Leila: "Do you love her?"

Ray: "..."

That question was answered by a silent gaze from him. It was quite a blunt one, that's for sure.

With that said, Leila kept her emotionless face and stared at him with the same silence.

A few minutes passed by with neither of them making any sound.

Ray: "Hah..."

Until a sigh left his mouth.

Ray: "I'm guessing you won't be satisfied with me saying that I care about her?"

Leila: "...ill."

Ray: "Huh?"

She mumbled some incomplete words and he looked at her with his head tilted a bit.

Leila: "I said, that... I will."

Ray: "...ah."

It was a surprise, like usual, since she had pretty much started to respond to things much more... intently. As such, he scratched his head and looked up.
