Aria flipped the page of her book, sipping her hot milk. Her back rested on her headboard as she read the next word following the last page. It was 11 in the evening already, but she couldn't sleep, so Aria resorted to books and silence. Just thank goodness it was night, there was no need for her to wear her earphones.

After the incident that lunch, their supposed schedule at the mall was called off. They made sure Namtarn had her rest. The mall could wait. Besides, their current mood with Pang at that time wasn't so good.

All was well until Aria heard whispering noises. But she shook it off and continued with her book. Then a rumbling one. Yet again, she ignored it. But when Aria heard some things fall and a couple of curses from familiar voices, she stood up and left her room wearing a bathrobe and slippers.

The two voices were too familiar for her liking. And the falling sound made her even more worried.

"What were they doing this late?"

She hugged herself as the cold night wind blew in her direction. She followed where Pang and Wave's noises were coming from.

"Auditorium."

But her direction changed when she heard Wave walking elsewhere. She didn't know why, but her feet drove her towards Wave. Pang was still in the auditorium, and Aria knew that. But her instincts first tell her to go to Wave. He sounded off, unlike Pang.

She kept her feet light despite running. Aria didn't want any guards catching her sneaking into buildings. Her heightened hearing helped her make sure she wouldn't get caught. She was thankful that the lights were open, she would have no trouble finding her way.

Her heart pounded hard when she heard Ms Ladda's noise. Aria halter and hid, thinking that she was just nearby. But when she realized that she was far away and that she was safe, Aria went out of her hiding spot and returned to her track. Nevertheless, she kept her ears open, listening to Ms Ladda and Pang outside the auditorium.

Another turned to the right, and after a few more steps, Aria reached the infirmary. Inside, she saw Wave tending his own wound on his side.

"Wave!" Without another word, Aria rushed in and to him.

Wave looked up in surprise and froze. "Aria..." He was surprised not only because the girl caught her outside while the curfew was still in effect, but also because she knew where he was, and because she was genuinely worried about his well-being.

His wound was bleeding that blood trailed on his fingers.

Aria took another cotton ball and put antiseptic on it. She pulled out a chair in front of Wave and took a seat. She took the forceps in his hand, put the used cotton away and used the cotton she had to clean his wound with the help of the forceps.

"What happened to you? Where did you get this wound?" she asked, eyes firmly on his bleeding wound and her voice slightly cold.

Wave wasn't sure why she was doing that. Just hours ago he could feel her piercing glares, days ago she acted like he never existed, and then... she was like that friend of his that he always had.

"Something fell that pierced me."

"What fell? And what pierced you?"

Meanwhile for Aria, seeing his bleeding side washed off the events of the past few days. Yes, she was infuriated at him, and yes, she was indecisive about whether she still hated him or not thanks to Namtarn. But seeing him injured like that, she couldn't help but tend to him.

"Just a bunch of chairs. And a nail."

"A nail?!"

Wave's eyes widened at her sudden shout. He had gotten used to the cold, monotonous voice she kept using on him the past few days. He didn't expect her to worriedly shout like that after everything.
