Aria, Grace, Ohm, Pang, and Sol watched the police car drive away as the siren blared throughout the road. The red lights from the roof of the car blasted, making their skins look red at night time.

The Director was finally, truly defeated. He had been taken away. They were safe.

Just after Pang used his potential on the old man, Wave called Aria. He said that Sol was waiting outside with some policemen to escort the Director to the police station. Sol's aunt worked with Bangkok's police force, which was why when Wave messaged Sol to rescue her and the rest, he called his aunt for backup.

The policemen took the Director and he did not try to escape. Pang's potential was still in effect.

"Come on, let's get you four back to them," said Sol.

They all nodded and entered the parked car in front of them. That was Sol's father. He borrowed it without permission when Wave texted him that Aria was in danger. He sprinted out of his bed, took the keys, and drove off to the location he was told.

Sol still had a bit of his blood boiling because of Wave. But his friend was in danger to refuse his request. Under other circumstances, he would think first before allowing Wave to boss him around. Fortunately, Aria came out of that building unscathed.

Grace, Pang, and Ohm took the backseat while Aria, the gunshot ride, and Sol the driver's seat. Their first destination was the school. Grace asked him to drop her off at the school and he complied.

The sky was already lightening up and the sun was starting to show itself. Thick clouds covered the blueness of the sky and fog covered some area below them.

They hadn't gotten any sleep. The three Gifted stayed awake. But it was all worth it, then, that the king and his palace fell beyond repair.

Sol looked at every single one of them on the back. It didn't need any words to tell him they were tired. Then his eyes drifted to his friend. She was leaning on the car window and was watching the tall buildings they passed by. Even if they didn't get to sleep, Aria wasn't sleepy at all. She'd blame the adrenaline she felt throughout their stunt.

He had no idea his friend had that problem for three years. She never told him, and he knew it was not his fault. Yet he couldn't help but feel guilty that he didn't try to know. But at the very least, he had helped. Whether as a shoulder to cry on or as a knight ready to protect his princess.

It did not take them too long to arrive at the building where the rest were. Although tired from a sleepless night and high tension from the negotiations with the Director, the four managed to climb up to meet the rest and officially show them victory.

Sol followed still. He wouldn't leave until the princess was in the arms of the wizard. He wouldn't leave until he was sure Aria was safe.

The four entered the quiet room.

Wave immediately stood up from his swivel chair and attacked Aria with a hug so tight and forceful that she had to take a few steps back before they regained balance. She giggled lightly while in between his arms and hugged him back.

It didn't matter if everyone could see them. What mattered the most was that Wave knew she was all right. That she was fine. The virus might be harmless from day one, but he couldn't help but still be worried.

However, he didn't need to be anymore. Because it was all done. The Director was gone. They're safe.

"He didn't hurt you, right?" he whispered. He needed to assure himself.

Aria shook her head, which he felt. "I'm fine."

"You always are even though you're not."

Once more, she giggled at his actions. They broke the embrace, and stared at each other's eyes, hands still together.
