The sun was already up when the trio reached the abandoned warehouse where the Director and Mr Pom kept Time. Pang led the way inside as if he memorised every way.

"Pang," Aria called as they climbed up the stairs. "We have a small rest house three towns away, in the mountains. You can stay there as long as you need."

"We can talk about that later. We need to give Wave that medicine first."

She nodded as they walked into a room that was the cleanest among them all. The rest looked like it was from around the 90s or 80s, but that room was the only one belonging to 2020.

Pang went straight to the table and drawers to look for the said medicine; Aria helped him to look for any possible tablet despite not knowing what it looked like.

"Aria, you should've gone back to school," said Wave. "The Director might suspect you."

"And leave you alone? No. With what you've done to yourself, I can't imagine what worse you could do."

"Are you still mad at me?"

"I am."

"Stop fighting and help me find that medicine."

And so, the couple did. On every edge of the room, they looked for anything that looked like a drug. According to Pang earlier, the drug was white, circular, and had a G on it. They even almost turned the whole room upside down, but there was nothing.

"There's no drug cocktail here, Pawaret."

The trio stepped back with wide eyes and fear as they heard and saw the Director by the doorway.

Instinctively, Wave pulled Aria, who swallowed after seeing the old man on her back in fear that he'd harm her.

"I moved it elsewhere." He stepped in that urged Wave to hold her hand tighter and shield her from the walking monster. "I knew," he turned to Wave, "that Wasuthorn would infect himself with NYX-88. And I knew that you'd take him here. But what I didn't know," he turned to Aria that made Wave clench his teeth, "that Chatmanee would do the same."

"You underestimated me." Despite the fear, anger was Aria's driver. It was a good thing that he was under the impression that she took the virus.

"Treat my friend immediately!" Pang demanded.

"That drug cocktail that you want is the product of my knowledge and research. What makes you think that I will give it to you easily? Children like you have developed the special potentials because of my innovation. You are never grateful for my contribution. And here you are stealing the medicine without a cost. Time changes and takes away your common sense, I see. Listen carefully, Pawaret. In this world in which you are breathing, you have not contributed any single thing. You have no right to think you are entitled. I am entitled."

Anger was too visible on the trio's faces. If looks could kill, the Director was already swimming in the pool of his own blood.

"Therefore, if you want Wasuthorn and Chatmanee to get medicines from me, you must give up something to exchange."

What he wanted from Pang, they had no idea. He already had the power he wanted. What else would he need from a bunch of kids like them?

Their questions were soon answered when the Director raised his hand to offer a vial of NYX-88. Their eyes broadened as they pieced together the exchange the Director was asking them.

"Give in and your friends will get the treatment."

Wave's grip on her tightened, but Aria's face softened. Pang was the most capable person to destroy the Director. But once he had the virus, it'd be over for them all.
