"NYX-88," Pang wrote on the board, standing in front of the table where his friends were sitting.

He had called everyone——except Aria——to discuss what had happened while he was inside Ms Darin's office. She was too suspicious, all of them were for him to just turn a blind eye. And Time being in the state he was; it was all too much for a coincidence.

He walked towards them after putting the chalk down and sat down to start the discussion.

"According to what you've said, Pang, it is dubious we got called to do a medical check-up," said Claire, sitting on his right, her elbows on the table as her fingers play with each other just below her chin.

"You said Mr Pom wouldn't say anything. It's clear that the adults are hiding something from us," Punn concluded, sitting across from his girlfriend.

"But what I really want to know is, what is NYX-88? Does it have anything to do with Time being sick?" If none of the adults were willing to give them the answer, Pang would find it out himself.

"If all you do is try to think, you'll come up with nothing."

Everyone in the room turned their heads to Wave, who had just spoken. He turned his chair around to face the rest, showing them his laptop screen that played a video of Ms Darin throwing something in a secluded place in the school.

Pang was the first to stand up, his gaze never leaving the screen as he approached, and the rest followed closely behind him.

Mr Darin came from upstairs. She had a laptop in her hand and she threw it away like worthless plastic garbage before climbing back up.

She was indeed suspicious. If she had to throw something, why not throw it in the trash cans around the school? There was plenty of it. But no. She chose to throw it away in a place where barely anyone went.

Pang's phone notified him with a ding as it vibrated. No one paid attention to it but him. He took his cellphone out of his pocket and checked what the notification was about. It was Aria.

He quickly walked away from everyone to answer her message.

"I'm sorry I listened to your conversation with Ms Darin. If there's something I could do to help, please let me know." That was what her message said.

"Where are you?" he texted back.

"In the dorm." Aria was quick to reply.

"Let's meet at your place."

After his friend agreed, Pang pocketed his cellphone back and faced the rest who were busy talking about their theories about Ms Darin and her actions.

"You guys get that laptop," he said, getting all their attention. "I have to go somewhere." He didn't let them respond or complain, Pang jogged towards the exit and headed to the school garden where Aria used to go.

It was already dark with the light coming from the hallways, the buildings, and the crescent moon as the only light source. The crickets were the only noise as his feet brushed against the grass.

He stopped on his track as soon as he arrived in front of Aria, wearing a green hoodie and black sweatpants to protect her from the cold.

"I'm really really sorry I eavesdropped. I just want to know nothing bad will happen to you," Aria immediately welcomed him with an apology. She couldn't bear to lose the only friend who still talked to her just because of her unstoppable hobby of listening to other people's business.

"It's okay." Pang smiled to assure his friend. He knew how vulnerable she was right then. Besides, it really was all right. If she listened, so what? "Now come with me." He took her wrist and pulled her.
