"Why am I getting an early dismissal?"

I close my eyes as Gabby closes the door behind her.

Dante glances at me nervously, gripping the wheel.

"Brook? What happened?"
He asks softly, glancing at her in the backseat.

I lean back, my head pounding.

I haven hasn't happened to me in a long time.

I haven't been this angry.

"I need my pills."
I ignore his question.

"Brook, what's wrong?"

I ignore her completely, pulling out my headphones.

"What did you do now?"
Dante groans, turning to look at her.

"What? I didn't do anything."
Gabby complains.

"Okay."
He sighs, starting the car.

We drive in silence.

I stare out the window the whole time, deep in thought.

"Brook, wait! What did I do?"

Gabby corners me by the garage door.

"You know damn well that you knew exactly what's going on. You lied to me."
I hiss, getting even more upset as she starts to look guilty.

"That's what this is about? Brook. I didn't tell you because I knew that you would get mad."
She says softly.

I frown, looking up as Danny catches up.

"Whatever, just leave me-"

"It's because you hang out with Jordan Fisher."
She cuts me off.

I blink.

Who the hell is Jordan Fisher?

Oh.

Teddy.

"I know I should have told you, I didn't mean to make you mad or anything."
She continues, watching my reaction closely.

That's it?

That's why people were looking at me like that?

"So what? What's wrong with me hanging out with him?"
I ask, the confusion getting the best of me.

"Guys, let's go inside."
Danny offers quietly, pressing the garage door opener.

I bite my lip, my mind all over the place as I follow them inside.

Jordan.

Wow.

That name fits him perfectly. He looks like a Jordan.

What does everyone think is so wrong with him?

"I don't really know what's wrong with him but everyone keeps their distance. People are just surprised that you are trying to be friends with someone like him."
Gabby says quietly as I sit down on the couch.

I frown.

Someone like him?

He's a normal person, there's nothing wrong with him.

"So nobody has anything else to do but sit around and treat me different just because I'm trying to befriend the school's antisocial boy?"
I ask, folding my arms.

Danny walks in holding a bottle of water and my pills.

"I don't know. I didn't even know it was you they were talking about until Jacob told me."
She says.
