Brooklyn

I close the door behind me slowly, smiling to myself when I see Teddy and Eli sitting on the floor in front of the TV making a Lego house.

Teddy looks up, scratching his neck as he pauses the movie.

"I was wondering when you'd come check on us. How's girls night in?"
He asks softly.

"Great. Just perfect. They're all down there talking shit about us and binging on ice cream and probably watching some cheesy romance movie."
Jacob says from the bed.

I narrow my eyes.

"That sounds extremely close. You spying on us, bro?"
I accuse.

He smirks.

"Nope. I don't have to anyway. Who do you think Gabby and Liz cried on during the Titanic when you locked yourself in here for like 3 months last year?"
He questions.

I cringe inwardly.

"You're the best."
I say softly.

He rolls his eyes.

"Yes, I know. Now hurry up and do what you got to do so that we can finish Speed Racer. I actually quite enjoy this movie. Guy's night in, huh Eli?"
He says, craning his neck to see the excited little boy.

"Yeah!"
He agrees wholeheartedly.

"You okay, sweetheart?"
Teddy asks, concern filling his voice.

I run a hand through my hair.

"Uh...Yeah. Yeah."
I say awkwardly.

He stands up slowly, patting Eli's head.

"Hey! Where ya go?"
Eli complains as he walks towards me.

"I'll be back, little man."
Teddy chuckles while I admire their relationship.

Liz claims that he talks about Teddy all the time. He's so good with kids.

Hm.

"I'll keep him company."
Jacob tosses aside his phone and hops up as Teddy grabs my hand and leads me to the bathroom.

"Teddy, what are you doing?"
I ask as he closes and locks the door behind us.

"Are you okay?"

I roll my eyes.

"You already asked me that. I said I'm fine."
I remind him.

He bites his lip, resting his hands on my hips.

"Ah, I see what's going on. You want some of your ole teddy's love, yeah?"
He asks softly.

I raise my eyebrow.

Wow, he's good.

As if reading my mind, he laughs.

"You're an open book, love."
He mutters, stroking my cheek.

I look away.

I miss you.

"I don't know. For some odd reason, I just keep on panicking when I don't see you for a while."
I admit.

He frowns.

"It's only been a couple of hours. I thought you were having a good time with the girls."
He says.

"I am."
I say quickly.

Honestly.

He wordlessly hugs me to his chest with a sigh.

"I don't want to keep you too long, I know the ladies want you back."
He chuckles, leaning down to kiss me.

I love the kiss.
