"Oh my God, that was Jordan?"

I roll my eyes, piling my hair on top of my head.

"I call him Teddy."
I mutter.

Danny snickers beside me.

I glare, folding my arms.

"Oh, shut up."

"That's cute."
He smirks, his eyes glued to the road.

"I didn't know what I was expecting but Jesus Christ. I wasn't expecting that."
Gabby continues in the backseat.

"Hey, can we stop by Burger King? I'm starving."
Jacob pipes in from behind me.

Danny rolls his eyes at him in the review mirror.

"Fatass."
I tease, turning around.

He glares at me.

Me and Jacob are cool now.

We talked this morning and I got to get to know him a little bit.

He seems sincere about his motives with Gabby.

"She's too beautiful. I'd rather be dipping her in dimes and pearls and showing her off than trying to play her. I'm not that smart but I'm also not that stupid."
He told me.

He got a little emotional when he told me what happened with him and his ex.

She cheated on him.

"I'll never do that to another person ever again. That pain...nobody should go through that."

I saw his motives from a different perspective.

He even took me out to eat at the coffee shop down the street for breakfast.

His ex was there, coincidentally.

She glared at us that whole time.

I found the whole situation hilarious.

Just a few minutes ago when he met Danny for the first time, he almost had a heart attack.

Dante did the whole tough guy thing that dads usually do, I cracked up.

"Fine, you better have some Burger King money."
Danny says.

"Yeah, yeah."
Jacob waves him off, wrapping his arm around Gabby who is busy texting Mary.

"I guess this guy isn't worried about me beating his ass anymore. I'll still do it."
He grumbles under his breath.

I laugh.

"Hopefully your Teddy isn't as stupid as him."

I blush, looking away.

My Teddy.

"Shut up."
I mutter, causing him to snicker again.

"Come here girl."
I call out.

Rex prances up to me, dropping the tennis ball  at my feet obediently.

I bend down to praise her, showering her with love.

"You're such a good girl."
I say softly, petting her.

My dog is the only thing that sees this side of me.

The carefree, nonchalant side of me.

The real side of me.
