Evie was talking to me earlier before Stassie came home, she wanted to know what the hell was wrong with Mikey and why he wouldn't talk to her. He was sitting outside and wouldn't talk to her anytime she tried to. So my older brother instincts came out and I dragged Mikey's ass in from the front yard and made them go talk it out. As it got later a couple of the guys wanted to throw a party in the back yard. When Stassie showed up I was in a mood from them badgering and almost went off the handle about her walking outside alone with no protection. Yet all those earlier cares went away as I sat outside smoking and drinking. Evie and Mikey had thankfully made up and were back to being that disgusting PDA couple at every event.

I saw the light flick on in Stassie's room and I wondered if I should go get her or just let her be. Evie must have seen me because she stood up and pulled Mikey with her, giving me a nod as they walked into the house. Someone was talking and we were laughing and that's when time slowed down. I heard a crash come from inside the house and then Evie scream.

The group of homies sitting outback had stood up and all rushed into the house. Evie was crouching down over Stassie who was out of it on the floor.

"Yo she's bleeding from the head!" Someone yelled. I pushed my way through the crowd to get to her. Stassie's eyes widened when she saw me and then they rolled into the back of her head.

"Someone call nine-one-one! RIGHT NOW!" I yelled. Evie started fanning Stassie and a couple of the boys started cleaning up the beer bottles and stashing the weed.

"Three minutes out." Mikey called out.

"Open the front door. Clear the space so they can come in." Evie groaned. She let out a big cry and then started praying.

"Heavenly Father, please don't take her. She's the good one. Take me instead!" She cried out but continued.

"Go bhfeadfa conic na hEireann tu a fhulaingt. Go mbreithneoidh a lochanna ages a haibhneacha tu. Go bhfeadfa adh na Gaelige leat. Go bhfeadfa beannachtai Naomh Pagraig a thabhairt guit." Evie did the sign of the cross and stood up.

(May the Irish hills caress you, May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.)

"Where is she?" I looked up to see and EMT.

"Right here." I stood up and backed away.

"What happened? Did she take any drugs or drink any alcohol?"

"Um she was talking to us and then fell backwards. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head but kept making eye contact until then." Evie replied.

"No drugs or alcohol?"

"Not that we know of." I said. "The rest of us just came in the house when we heard a loud crash. Which happened to be Stassie."

"Okay which one of you is coming with me?" The EMT looked at the group of us.

"Her sister will. Evie go with Stass, the rest of us will follow." Evie nodded and followed Stassie who was now strapped to the stretcher out of the house.

"Okay. Mikey you coming?" Mikey nodded.

"Rest of you go home. I'll call with any updates." The group nodded and Mikey sat waiting for me.

I ran into my room and grabbed my keys and wallet.

"Do you think she overdosed too?" I heard Mikey ask.

"No. She probably fainted. Don't worry, she'll be okay." I was comforting  Mikey when he should have been comforting me.

Mikey called Mama Patty, Stass' brothers and then Evie to make sure they got to the hospital ok. I flew down the roads of Freeridge as fast as I could.
