"You were waiting for me."

He grinned my way, all teeth showing and then in a blink of an eye he was before me, breathing slightly heavier whilst my eyes widened at how fast he had gotten here.

A small smirk appeared on his face as he looked down at me, blocking the morning light from completely aiming at my face, whilst I squinted upwards.

His body glistened in a light sheet of sweat. I had never seen Lucas shirtless and now at this moment, I kind of wished I hadn't.

He was well-defined, much like someone else I would rather not mention, his normally tied hair dropped freely down to his shoulders like a lofty curtain.

The bags that used to be under his eyes were completely gone, and if anything he looked brand new and quite refreshed.

"Were-How long have you been here?" he asked, a slow crease drawing in his eyebrows.

I signed the answer, the whole night.

He raised an eyebrow, but a steady smile was growing on his features.

"You were waiting for me," he stated a realization mirroring both in the edge of his tone and the emotion in his eyes.

I pursed my lips, cheeks heating up, not wanting to make too much of a big deal of it, reaching out into the bag, and offering him a banana, with a wide grin.

He looked down at this and suddenly frowned, eyes flashing up to me.

"oh, Funny. I get it, because my Gigans a monkey?" he huffed, eyes narrowing down on me, his tone sounded offended,

My jaw dropped, trying to sign something to defend myself, but ended up only gaping, suddenly feeling embarrassed. I could have sworn he said he liked them.

His expression changed at this chuckling, bowling out in laughter.

"I'm joking," he assured me, reaching out for it, before dropping beside me with a relieved sigh, his eyes set on the banana,

"Where on this godforsaken place did you find this? My Gigan searched all over the island for this, he ended up tearing down a few trees, " he finished, a slight crease in his forehead before looking back at me in curiosity.

I chuckled at this, signing shortly, [I have my ways].

He nodded at this, looking down at the banana as he pealed the outer skin off.

"Clearly,"  He grunted before taking a large bite out of the banana and moaning for a second, "oh yeah, that's the stuff," he moaned, lazily looking at me, his eyes squinting on the oncoming sunlight.

He lay beside me, propped on his elbows, hair brushing past his shoulder.

"You know only bringing one of these is a crime, right?" he asked after basically gulping down the banana in two sturdy bites.

I chuckled at this displaying him with another to which he groaned in pleasure looking up at the heavens and whispering a thankyou whilst I laughed gayly, having missed this playful warm side of Lucas.

He had been so down the last two weeks, it was a breath of fresh air to see him this happy and energetic.

I knew for a fact that he deserved this and so much more.

After downing another banana with a satisfied grunt, his eyes met mine, staring at them for a moment, a moment too long, and my gaze shifted as he sat up.

"You stayed here all night," he stated.

I pushed my hair back,  shrugging, as I stared out into the place where the firewall once stood.

The morning was fresh around us.

"I caught your scent," he began, causing me to look at him.

"I mean at first I thought it was just my imagination because when I'm in that state-" he paused, eyes shifting from the ground to look back at me.

"I tend to think of things that calm me. I just thought it was a really good illusion," he took a deep breath out, eyes searching mine. "It helps."

My heart beat faster within me the longer we stared at each other before his eyebrows suddenly arched.

"Oh and your little friend was there," he added, a faded look crossing his face as he seemingly tried to remember something, my eyebrows arching at this.

"Uhm...Claire," he stated, with a short grin, nodding as if encouraging himself he was on the right track whilst I tried to think of what he was playing at.

"She kept creating this illusion, confusing my path, I think I walked in circles three times," he paused with a chuckle as I laughed too.

"It's a cool power, definitely fooled me for a bit," he grinned eyes trailing out to the forest.

I was glad he wasn't looking at me this time because it was getting really hard to not notice that he was still shirtless.

I tried to focus ahead, knowing I was raised much better than to lust, and I had told myself, that rekindling my crush on Lucas would not do me any good, as being friends was much safer for me.

Plus we just clicked better as friends at this point. I didn't even want to imagine anything else.

What good would that do?

I was only barely figuring myself out- the last thing I needed was to deal with heartbreaks and judging from the movies, I just knew I was going to suck at it. Becoming a whole girlfriend!

My eyes widened shaking my head as I realized how far I had let myself think just because he was shirtless!

I then remembered something, grabbing my bag I rummaged through whilst I could feel his gaze on me, taking out the package that I was given to deliver, and handing it over to him.

He took it raising an eyebrow at me,

[from the twins, they said you would need it] I signed to him.

He opened it and to my relief, he took out a shirt, a note falling out. He picked it up, reading the card, '

[WELCOME BACK TO CIVILISATION.
PLEASE WEAR A SHIRT]

He read out loud and we both chuckled at the note. He looked at the shirt for a moment, shaking his head.

"Well, this kind of sucks," he huffed, preparing to wear the shirt.

"I didn't mind you staring," he commented, humor dancing in his eyes accompanied by a smirk before sliding it over his head.

Embarrassment clouded my face, frowning when he finished, turning to face me, eyebrows arching at the Depression on my face.

"Oh sorry, do you prefer it off?" he asked raising the ends slightly and I immediately shook my head quickly pushing his shirt down for him with all due respect and this sent him laughing whilst my ears burned.

"You're so easy to tease," he stated in amusement before he froze, eyes narrowing down at me so abruptly I began to wonder what was wrong.

His lips pursed before he made his reasons known, "you have another banana in there don't you?" he asked.

I couldn't help the inward chuckle that burst through, his eyes suddenly pleading.

"C'mon, hand it over," he begged, moving closer to take it from me whilst I laughed, "I'm starving," he groaned.

It was so good to have him back, All new again.
