Chapter 19: Weak

Billie POV

I wake up and it's like 9:45 at night and I go to the first floor to see the front door wide open and everyone looking at Kris.

"Close the door shitheads." Someone gets up and closes the door and I walk into the backyard and grab my bow and arrow and focus on my target board.

I shoot the arrow and it goes into the center. I take another and shoot it into the previous one splitting it. I go and take the 3rd arrow but Claudia spins me around "Where's Mari!?" She asked. "She's in her room," I tell her.

"Her room door is locked and you have the master key." Claudia tells me. (a master key is a single key that can unlock all the doors in the house)

"Alright lemme unlock the door." We both go into the elevator and go up to her room and Claudia says "Mariana? Are you in there?" We hear nothing, I unlock the door and go in and she is nowhere to be found. I walk into her bathroom and she isn't there.

"Did you check everywhere else?" I ask Claudia.

"Yes! I can't find her." I rush out of the room opening all the doors on the floor seeing if I can find her. Claudia runs downstairs to see if she is downstairs in the basement. "damn it" I mumble under my breath. I try calling her but it goes straight to voicemail.

I go to my office and log into my camera system and look over it and after 15 minutes of watching the camera, I see a dark brown-haired girl walk out of the front door but I can't tell whether if it's Mariana or not.

I pause it at the moment the girl leaves out the door and I zoom in and I see her face wet with tears and I flip to the outdoor porch camera to see Mariana running off. I call Claudia in the room.

"Did you find her?" Claudia asks, I nod.

"She ran out. Get Zoe to track her phone." I say.

Zoe comes back in with a nervous look on her face. "She's in Manhattan," Zoe says.

"Manhattan!? Billie, she's in enemy territory. Dude! We have to find her!" Claudia says.

"Ok, get the gang we're finding her." I say.

"But Bil-" I cut Zoe off. "NOW!"

Mariana POV

I'm in Manhattan and I have slowed down. I have missed calls but I don't care. I look up and see a building with a flat roof. I climb up a tree near the building and jump on the roof.

I sit down and light a cigarette and inhale it sharply and blow the smoke out. I hear footsteps behind me. I freeze and I get up and turn around. "You're in dangerous territory, Miss Rodriguez." The person says, they have a mask on and their voice is really hard to tell whether it's a girl or boy.

The person lifts up their hand and aims a gun at me. "Really? This shit again?" I ask and I walk back slowly. "Watch your step, you don't want to fall. Do you?" The voice says and I look behind me and I see the sidewalk underneath me.

"Hmm? You'll be surprised if I jumped wouldn't you?" I ask them and they say "That's a suicide mission."

"It's not a suicide mission when you're Mariana." I take the jump and land on my right foot. I know I fucked it up but I don't feel the pain but I run until I bump into someone. I look and they grab me my neck and slam me into the cement wall.

I scream in pain and I punch the dude in his face and he falls to the ground and I slump to the ground. I get up slowly wincing at the pain from my neck still not feeling the pain in my foot. Someone grabs me from behind.

I feel their grip tightening around my waist and my thigh feels his gun in his right pocket. I yank the gun out of his pocket and elbow him in his stomach and he stumbles back. I cock the gun and shoot him in his stomach. He yells and I run away with the gun still in my hand.

Now I begin to feel the pain in my foot and it hurts like a bitch. I walk until I realize I can't walk on it anymore. I sit on the ground slumped against the wall and whimper due to pain.

Billie POV

I still roaming around the blocks looking for Mariana. I turn the block and I hear a soft crying. Usually, when I hear someone crying, I tell them to shut the fuck up. But I was drawn to this soft cry, I follow the cries until I see my girlfriend crying into her hands.

I walk up to her, squat down and lift her chin up. She looks at me and wraps her arms around my neck and says "Billie, I want to go home. I just shot a guy an-" she starts to sob and it hurts my heart.

"Shh, it's ok mamas im here now ill take you home." I help her up but she screams in pain. "What? What is it?" I ask her frantically?

"My foot! I can't walk." I pick her up bridal style and carry her into the car. The driver drives and soon after, Mariana is asleep in my arms. She breathing steady and she looks beautiful with her brown curly hair and flush cheeks and I just stare at her sleeping for the rest of the ride.
