it was a few days later when jongho's next letter to yeosang arrived. the boy was elated to receive another letter, and he was excited to read its contents.

he read through the long letter quickly, his eyes freezing on one phrase towards the end.

thank you for being so kind to me, kang. your words and stories bring me more comfort than you know. i just hope i can do the same for you.

bringing the younger comfort had been yeosang's goal, and knowing he had succeeded excited the boy. he quickly got to writing his next letter when he heard his phone go off, seonghwa's name appearing on the screen with a text attached.

yeosang locked his phone and smiled, then went back to writing and suddenly got an idea.

i was wondering if maybe, you wanted to exchange numbers so that we can text instead of waiting until our letters get to each other. we can still send letters too, but that way i don't feel as annoying when i have something i really want to tell you.

yeosang smiled and folded up the now completed letter, taking a deep breath and placing the letter in the envelope. he felt braver than he had ever felt before.

and now, all he could do was wait.
