100 Levels of Qi Condensation

"Wait why? The last few years we never had to."

"Things are different this year. Although the Jiangshi we make are good but in our sect this faction holds the least amount of authority."

Most Jiangshi made by the disciples in the faction are just not that great of a combat asset. The sect expects more from the arts of Jiangshi crafting.

"It's not like we specialize in Jiangshi crafting as a sect though..."

"Be that as it may it cannot be helped. Only one of you needs to go."

"Err... I got a lot of work to get done so..."

"Same here."

"Me too."

Everyone's cultivation within this faction are in realms of Qi Condensation to the early realms of Foundation Establishment. There was no possible way for them to stand much of a chance against the other faction's disciples.

Even those in the Black Steel Faction or the Five Pills Faction are stronger than two of those from the Awakened Corpses Faction combined.

Everyone readily makes a pass on the chance to be the sacrificial chest piece including Ye Gui Feng.

Each and every one of them seems to not be willing to participate even if they were beaten to death giving Elder Shu quite a headache.

It's not like Elder Shu wanted to send them off to be humiliated either but he can't just not send someone in.

Suddenly Elder Shu's eyes turn to Ye Gui Feng. As the disciple of Xie Mo Xin Elder Shu believes that Ye Gui Feng must have some kind of special means of training that makes him far above his peers.

"..."

The moment Elder Shu's eyes landed upon him Ye Gui Feng turns his head away.

"Xiao Feng."

"E-Even if you beat me to death I won't do it."

"Hmm."

Furrowing his brows Elder Shu sighs before speaking out in a pained filled voice.

"If you don't want to that's fine as well. It's just now that I think about it you all have used quite a few number of corpses over the past years. There were also the other materials..."

This may not have sounded to have been directed at Ye Gui Feng but with Elder Shu's eyes glued on him it made it seem quite obvious.

Naturally this was also a way for Elder Shu to remind everyone else of their debts...

"Xiao Feng I'll lend you some materials for upgrading your Jiangshi."

"I'll buy you some pills to increase you speed of cultivation."

"Senior brothers you all are too cruel! I'm only a junior!"

It would seem like everyone has pinned their hopes on Ye Gui Feng all of a sudden as they begin to offer materials, pills, and other forms of resources.

"Nonsense we've all treated you well over the past two years haven't we?"

"We're not sending you in there unarmed."

Ye Gui Feng was not given a choice as those around him practically shoved valuable items onto his hands to push him into the competition.

"Hahaha then it's decided. No one is bother Xiao Feng for the next four months!"

"The heavens truly have no justice! What did I do wrong to be treated like this!?"

Despite his wail everyone had quickly scattered and left the center of the faction leaving only Ye Gui Feng to stand there with a handful of valuable materials.

"Th-This... This isn't right...! I... *Sigh*"

Dejectedly Ye Gui Feng stores the items away and heads back to his cave. He has only four months of time to practice cultivation and upgrade the Three Brothers of the Dead so there was hardly much time to waste.

Upon returning back to his Immortal Cave Ye Gui Feng sat down and looked through all the materials that he had been given.

"Hmm..."

Looking through the materials Ye Gui Feng saw a pair of beast like arms. These had been taken off of a tiger like magic beast.

The bones within it have already been adjusted for fitment into a humanoid Jiangshi's arm sockets. The claws are made out of steel that can easily shrewd through stone like tofu.

"Come to think of it I've only ever made humanoid types."

There were beast types that are made for the purpose of scouting but those are somewhat rare considering how a magic beast's body is just a pile of living treasure.

There were far more benefits in salvaging the raw materials of the beast's body for something else rather than making an entire Jiangshi out of it.

"I should attach these claws to one of mine."

These claws are definitely on the heavy side but they were meant to be swung wildly and upon hitting a target they would crush it to death rather than actually cutting it apart.

Amongst the three Jiangshi Ye Gui Feng has Big Boss Deadman is the one with the highest strength specs so Ye Gui Feng ended up choosing that one to attach these claws to.

Another useful treasure within the pile of resources is a pair of shoes that increases the wearer's speed to which Ye Gui Feng had Little Brother Deadman wear.

As for Big Brother Deadman Ye Gui Feng ended up giving him a set of gloves. All three Jiangshi received a special body coating that made their skin as tough as steel.

Soon everything was finished in terms of Jiangshi preparation. There were no rules stating that one can only use a single Jiangshi in the matches.

Perhaps this was a way for the weaker disciples of the Awakened Corpses Faction to have a bit more of an advantage for the sake of fairness. Either that or the elders in charge of making the rules had never expected a person to use three.

After finishing all of his preparation Ye Gui Feng waters his plants and sat down cross legged in the personal living space area of his cave to practice cultivation.

With the amount of time that he is given Ye Gui Feng spend all of it on cultivation but he also did a bit of practice with the three Jiangshi in order to get used to their rate of magic energy consumption and movement.

After putting on the claws on Big Boss Deadman Ye Gui Feng finds it quite difficult to use them due to their heavy load and rate of magic consumption.

Surprisingly it was easier to control the other two at the same time than one Big Boss Deadman...

The remaining amount of time quickly passes by and by the end of the month Ye Gui Feng opens his eyes causing his body to burst with the might of the fifth level of Qi Condensation.

"...In master's manual it's written that there's nine levels to Qi Condensation before someone moves onto the realms of Foundation Establishment."

But according to Xie Mo Xin's notes Foundation Establishment and above or any level of cultivation in general are just a means of taking a different route to reach immortality.

Since that is the case there was no need to really move onto Foundation Establishment so long as one has the knowledge to move onto the path of the tenth level of Qi Condensation.

"I don't know what level master had reached in his cultivation but he wrote in this manual that there's a total of 100 levels in Qi Condensation."

However most cultivators do not know of this and would readily move onto Foundation, taking another route and constantly diverting onto the next.

If one can remain at the Qi Condensation levels then they will also reach immortality at some point. But the trick in doing so is a mystery.
