Unable to Confirm One's Dao

"Hmm."

Standing at the entrance of the fourth trial grounds Yao Xieshen takes on the childish face of Ye Gui Feng as he looks around curiously.

"This time he can't possibly do anything bad right?"

"The fourth trial ground is supposed to test one's will power."

It was utterly dark here and there is not a single source of light in sight. Continuing to walk about absentmindedly Ye Gui Feng strolls through the darkness.

Time passes by differently for Ye Gui Feng who is trapped within the fourth trial grounds. For those outside it would be a minute but a single minute here for Ye Gui Feng is an entire hour.

"Uh?"

Eventually a wave of white comes forth to light up this darkness as Ye Gui Feng soon finds himself standing back on Mount Zhu Tian.

"This is..."

Ye Gui Feng recognizes this road paved by stones. This is the roadway that leads up to the main courtyard of this mountain.

Curiously Ye Gui Feng walks up the road. His footsteps increase in speed until he eventually finds himself running up to the top.

"Shen'er."

"...!"

Ye Gui Feng who reaches the entrance of the main pavilion finds Yao Nie Tian smiling at him.

"Hahaha welcome back young master."

By his father's side is Yao Lei Yun who is happy to see him again.

"I-..."

Taking a step forward Ye Gui Feng finds himself unable to say a single word.

Deep down Ye Gui Feng knows that all of this is merely an illusion. The fourth trial grounds most likely creates one's ideal future and this in turn is used to trap the challenger within it.

"Xieshen."

Ye Gui Feng looks pass Yao Nie Tian and Yao Lei Yun who steps off to the side. Standing in front of him now is a girl dressed in a white set of robes.

This robe that has red chrysanthemum patterns is the same one that Ye Gui Feng had knitted and the person wearing them is naturally Xiao Ju Hong.

"...?"

Two streaks of tears roll down Ye Gui Feng's eyes as he smiles warmly to the illusion of Xiao Ju Hong that had been fabricated by the fourth trial grounds.

"He's..."

"Crying?"

"What is he seeing?"

Those that are viewing this are not capable of seeing what it is that Ye Gui Feng is seeing. In their eyes they can only see Ye Gui Feng standing in the midst of darkness.

"Perhaps he is seeing someone dear to him."

Sect master Sun Yuanzuo's eyes shine seeing the more childish side of Ye Gui Feng. Unlike the others he hadn't thought too badly of what Ye Gui Feng had done in the previous two trials.

"But this means that he will have a har-"

Without being able to finish his sentence Sun Yuanzuo's eyes constrict as the darkness surrounding Ye Gui Feng begins to show signs of distorting.

"Wait for me. I'll return to you all for real once everything is done."

Rejecting the false images of his desired future the world of darkness around Ye Gui Feng breaks as he sees the gate of the fifth trial grounds before him. He readily steps through it to emerge within the fifth trial grounds.
