Here I Come!

Ye Gui Feng steps onto the first step of the long staircase that leads up to Mount Tongtian. Soon people began to follow behind his footsteps as a long line of people form behind him.

An hour passes by and those climbing these stairs begin to sweat and pant. They are obviously tired from climbing.

Although some people had passed up Ye Gui Feng they were at best only a few thousand steps ahead. These people that are ahead are all just as tired and sweaty from the climb.

This is the Yao family's way of accepting servants who might have a chance to be promoted into servant disciples later down the line.

It didn't matter who makes it to the top of Mount Tongtian first. All that matters is that one makes it to the top within a day. Once they are up there they will have the status of a Yao family servant.

Despite how low of a servant's status is in the Yao family it is never the less a type of status that stands above all others beneath this mountain.

To these people climbing the mountain is a way to ascend through the gates of life to become rich quicker as servants of the Yao family are paid in high quantities of spirit stones.

It is said that a servant can be paid anywhere from 50 to 100 spirit stones a month.

Although the number sounds low to Ye Gui Feng who had been teleported here with all of his belongings it is a staggeringly high amount of fortune for these people that are climbing the mountain with him.

"Wait why am I climbing this? Can't I just fly to the top?"

Seemingly taken in by the passionate struggles of everyone else Ye Gui Feng had completely forgotten about his abilities to fly.

As Ye Gui Feng is tempted to take out his Sky Serpent Cane and just fly to the top he-

"Wait..."

Ye Gui Feng abruptly dismisses this idea.

What caused Ye Gui Feng to dismiss this idea is because of what he sees up ahead of him. He sees a Foundation realm practitioner thinking to do the same as him.

They take out a flying sword and took off but the moment that they took off is also the moment that-

*Boom!*

"Ahhhhhhh!!!!"

A miserable scream from the practitioner's mouth as a bolt of red lightning falls onto him.

A cold and ancient voice booms down from the mountaintops warning the few practitioners within the crowd to not follow in that person's footsteps.

"H-How terrifying..."

The practitioner didn't even have their corpse intact. It had been burnt to ashes... As the ashes are carried off by the wind Ye Gui Feng shivers as he realized that he had nearly escaped death.

"I-I almost stepped on a landmine just now... Phew..."

The thought sends a chill down Ye Gui Feng's spine as he continues his climb through physical efforts alone.

Another hour goes by and the number of people remaining have dropped considerably. Originally there had been over 2,000 people climbing the mountain but now it was only down to somewhere around 1,200.

At this time more and more people have climbed to the area of dense white fog. These dense white fogs are due to the layer of clouds that surrounds this part of the mountain.
