The sect patriarchs all sigh collectively as they thought about this story.

"...Indeed if words about this matter got outside..."

"It would be a big loss of face for the Yao family."

"In all honestly this matter isn't actually too secretive if people dig deep enough into the matter but it is something that the Yao family didn't want to be talked about so they cut out many pieces of information from the historical records."

"To think that the Yao family would actually do something like this..."

Rogue practitioners and various other clans and sects that had been present at the time had seen everything with their own eyes and have spread the information far and wide amongst a small group of friends and acquaintances.

Even if the Yao family wanted to hide this information those at the upper levels of the cultivation world would know about it without a doubt.

[Fellow Daoist Lu, there is no need to feel this way about having us know the truth. I believe this may help with our disciples in regards to being wary of the matters in the outside world when they do head out on their own and for them to know that the sect will always have their backs should anything happen. Amongst us old monsters here most of us have some clues as to what had happened 20 years back. Today being able to find out the full truth is something that we feel refreshing about and to be able to hear it from the mouth of a Yao family clansmen is something that we feel honored by.]

Sun Yuanzuo's voice booms as he speaks from within the grand halls. He feels like this is a good chance to have a bit more unity within the sect by tacking on some words.

"Sect master Sun you have my thanks."

Ye Gui Feng clasps his hands and gave a light bow towards the grand halls. He naturally has some knowledge of how the minds of old foxes would work as he begins to speak once more.

"I will say this. Treasure your relationships with others. Had members of the Yao family at the time stood with Yao Xieshen and Yao Nie Tian then things might not have ended the way that they did. Your sect can be considered your family even if they are not related to you by blood. I trust that none of you would want to be stuck in the position that the father and son had to be cornered into."

The audience beneath Ye Gui Feng nod their heads. That is indeed not a situation that they would want to be stuck in.

To be forced to fight off a whole group of enemies alone and not having anyone to back you up can be far too cruel. Especially when the people that should be on your side have all chosen to watch as you get slaughtered.

"Competition for resources might be fierce amongst you all but do know that you needn't resort to killing each other. Grudges and the likes in times of war are to be forgotten. Without unity you cannot possibly hope to defeat the greater enemy. The point is to make more friends that will have your back rather than enemies."

Having said that and having collected his supply of spirit stones Ye Gui Feng leaves by the means of flight and after making sure that no one is watching him he swaps on his original clothes of a red set of robes.

"..."

Ye Gui Feng inwardly sighs as he looks up at the skies.

"Yao family... To you I have no feelings or emotions of familial bond outside of a few people."

With a cold expression on his face Ye Gui Feng has decided that he will return back to the Yao family to collect the debts that they owe him.

Perhaps at that time Ye Gui Feng can take his father away from the family and go to the outside world. But where would they go then and what of Xiao Ju Hong?

"*Sigh* there's a lot to think about..."

"Thinking of something difficult again?"

Turning around with a start Ye Gui Feng finds Xie Mo Xin and Wei Hailan.

"Master."

"*Sigh* I do not know how you have a connection to the Yao family."

Ye Gui Feng is rather surprised by how Xie Mo Xin managed to know that he was actually Lu-yeye.

"Was it... That obvious?"

"I might not have known you for long but I can somewhat tell it's you."

"Ah..."

Everyone has their own secrets. Xie Mo Xin and Wei Hailan who have lived for so long naturally knows this and won't ask Ye Gui Feng for details.

"Enough. Outside of me and Hailan the others have no clue."

"Good child your road of travel is quite far."

Wei Hailan gently smiles as she puts a hand on Ye Gui Feng's cheek.

"No matter how you feel about the Yao family as a whole do not let that hatred of them abandoning you and your father at that time get to your head."

"I understand shīniáng. (师娘 Meaning: wife of one's master. No real English equivalent.)"

Wei Hailan smiles pleasantly upon being called by this title.

"Although I'm definitely making them pay up a good amount of interest for that incident."

"Heh from your story the one that you love is the Evil Blood Princess right? That's also why you said that the sect master's seat won't help you in the long run but will instead limit you?"

Towards this question Ye Gui Feng gives a light nod.

"You set your bar quite high so I can see why the seat holds no interest for you. Let me give you an advice. Obtaining a Dao might be difficult but you need to think of this in the perspective of simplicity. What do you want and how do you think you can achieve it?"

"You said before that you wanted immortality. Is that to spend an eternity with that girl?"

"I..."

"The Dao of Necromancy is a Dao but to you this might just be a hobby for the time being. Never the less it is a priceless craft to have. This can serve as your sub Dao but for your main Dao you can only continue to seek it."

"No need to overthink anything. All Daos bring about the same results in the end. There's no way to say which is the best or the strongest."

Ye Gui Feng nods as he listens intently to the two. The questions of what he wants and how he's going to achieve it repeatedly echo in his head.

As the day quickly darkens Ye Gui Feng soon returns back to his Immortal Cave and begins to contemplate the things that he had heard from Xie Mo Xin and Wei Hailan.

"Demons are hated by the heavens. Are the heaven's truly just in exterminating the demons? What is considered an evil then? Have I done anything that can be considered an offense to the heavens? In the first place the heaven itself is just a place."

Continuing to think along on this line of logic Ye Gui Feng silently sits in place with a pondering expression on his face.

"Since the heavens have no will. Why would I need their approval? Becoming a demon the further along I traverse in my cultivation... Why must I have the acknowledgement of something that isn't even a person?"

Blinking his eyes Ye Gui Feng continues to think for hours as time passes before he comes to a vague idea of what his Dao shall be.

"I have decided my Dao shall be... Evil itself."

Sticking true to what he considers to be his own justice Ye Gui Feng has decided to traverse down the Dao of Evil.

What Ye Gui Feng considers evil is not the meaning of the word itself. Instead it is the things that he approves of. Whatever the heavens deems as evil or unjust he, himself will approve of them and thus claim them as his "evil."

"The things that I approve of shall be evil in the eyes of heaven. But in my eyes they are just."

Although he doesn't know what he will approve of in the future Ye Gui Feng didn't worry about these matters at this time.
