Opening the Portal

One of the demonic weasels breaks out of the ground and pop a head out to look around before coming back to report.

[Clan chief we're here. A bit further is the gate.]

[Good. Keep digging a bit deeper to bring us directly to the front of the gate.]

As they near the gate a solid bedding of rocks and stones appear above them. A few strikes of the demonic weasel's claws easily punctures open a large enough hole for a tiny head to pop out.

The weasel looks about for a bit before reporting that the coast is clear. Once the report is received their group works to expand the hole and allow Ye Gui Feng to leap out.

"Heh what a bunch of idiots. But I'm thankful that they didn't station guards near the gate."

Not a single practitioner could have ever thought to use the method that Ye Gui Feng had used to sneak pass all these people.

"Let's see."

Ye Gui Feng presses a palm to the stone portal and pours his demonic energy into it.

"Oh?"

The gate responded as it begins to draw out a complex array of patterns but...

"Tch."

The pattern quickly fades away.

"No. Not yet."

Refusing to give up Ye Gui Feng begins to examine the gate a bit more. He knew that he managed to get it to response.

If that's the case it shouldn't be related to having a specific Heavenly Demon physique like what Xie Mo Xin and Sun Yuanzuo had thought.

Knowing that time is ticking Ye Gui Feng examines the gate in a hasty manner. Someone is bound to come by and notice him at some point.

Performing an incantation gesture Ye Gui Feng summons out his True Shadow Body. Together Ye Gui Feng and the True Shadow Body presses their hand onto the gate.

"I see."

This time the patterns' clarity and complexity increased.

Having a better understanding of what he needs to do Ye Gui Feng summons out his Blood God Avatar as well. The True Shadow Body mimics him and did the same.

"You all as well."

Ye Gui Feng has the weasels all press a hand onto the gate together with him as they pour their demonic energy onto it.

"Not enough still..."

The patterns once more increase but it was still nowhere near enough.

[All of you come forth!]

As more demonic weasels come pouring out of the giant hole and use each other's backs to stand over the other in a tower formation more hands are pressed onto the gate.

The patterns once more increase causing the entirety of the stone gate to be covered up with light. As the light fills the edges of the gate it is fully activated as a beam of light shoots up into the skies.

"What?"

"What's going on?"

"Go check!"

This beam of light naturally attracts the attentions of those that have been waiting for Ye Gui Feng to show up.

This gate didn't need a specific Heavenly Demon physique to open. One needed to only prove that they are a demon and it will open. But with Ye Gui Feng's demonic energy alone it was nowhere near enough to do so.
