"..."

Ye Gui Feng opens his eyes with a weak look to his face. It takes him a few seconds for his vision to adjust to the brightness of the daylight.

With a bit of struggle Ye Gui Feng manages to sit up. He leans his back against a tree and looks down at his hand. It was completely pale. To his guess his face is probably the same.

"I'm alive?"

As Ye Gui Feng thought of this the figure of that girl appears again. She is walking towards him with a wooden bowl in her hand.

Yao Xue Hua stops with a meter of distance separating them and places the bowl down on the ground before taking another meter of distance back.

(What is this? She brought me water but won't come any closer?)

Seeing this Ye Gui Feng puts on a weird look. The look on Ye Gui Feng's face only makes the girl back away further.

(Don't tell me she thinks that I'm afraid of her? Wait... Isn't this similar to being treated like a dog that's just been brought into a new home?)

Strangely Ye Gui Feng suddenly recalls doing the same when he brought a new dog into his family home back in the 21st century.

It took quite a while for that dog to have gotten used to being around the family members so they would always put some food in front of it and then back off to let it come to the food. That dog later adjusted to the family members and allowed itself to be fed up close.

Yao Xue Hua tilts her head as if confused by what Ye Gui Feng meant. This is very much similar to dealing with someone that's socially awkward.

"I can't grab that bowl of water if I can't move so bring it to me and feed me!"

"...Ah."

As if just realizing this Yao Xue Hua's lips part before she picks up the bowl of water and approaches Ye Gui Feng. She crouches down and places the lip of the bowl to his mouth. Tilting the wooden bowl Ye Gui Feng begins to drink.

(Ah this feeling, this feeling of having a beautiful girl feed me water is... Is so refreshing~)

For some reason Ye Gui Feng feels like a winner in life to have the chance to experience something like this. Even the water tastes sweeter than usual.

(This is the taste of obtaining victory in life!)

With closed eyes Ye Gui Feng savors this sensation and before he realizes it the bowl had left his mouth with the contents drained much to his reluctance to have this sweet experience ended.

Yao Xue Hua gazes at Ye Gui Feng for a few seconds before opening her mouth to ask-

"You said before that... So long as you're alive there will always be something to look forward to. ...Is that true?"

"Hm? Well..."

Life is definitely not always without worries. In Ye Gui Feng's case he had plenty to worry about. It was like that in the 21st century and it is still like this even now in this world.
