Ye Gui Feng hears an ongoing clash happening outside as he and Xiao Ju Hong quickly begin to collect the treasures within the room and packing them into his storage bag.

One of them had been a strange fox styled helmet that Ye Gui Feng readily tossed into his bag without going into too much detail.

It didn't take long for them to collect all of the scattered treasures as Ye Gui Feng sat down at the center of the throne room to cultivate with Xiao Ju Hong standing by his side.

Outside of the dark palace the skeletal figure looks out over the lands. The 300 meter dark serpentine dragon has destroyed a total of five of the other golden dragons.

[*Sigh* we were all of the same sect and yet you eight had decided to betray me...]

The skeletal figure shakes his head as he sighs while recalling the past.

[1,450 years back we fought and in my final moments I took you all out with me causing our sect to collapse. It seems so long ago and yet I can still recall it vividly...]

The realm of the Nine Dragons' Vault had been the sect location of a certain ancient sect. But there was infighting between the sect master and the elders causing a great dispute to break out that ended up destroying the entire sect.

It was hard to say who was to blame for this. The ideals of the sect master and the elders had been great. Everyone wanted the sect to prosper but in different ways and using different methods.

The lesson that modern day cultivators can hope to gain out of this sect's downfall was that only by uniting under one banner will a sect be powerful.

Otherwise no matter how much individual strength there is in a sect it won't be capable of holding the sect up under the conflicting interests that many individuals may hold.

The skeleton raises its hand causing the aurora skies to dim. Dark thunder intensifies as pillars of lightning falls upon the heads of the three remaining dragons.

The Nine Dragons' Vault had been set to open every 100 years but this might very much be the last time that it will open.

The reason as to why the ninth vault, the dark palace had appeared is quite plain. It had simply appeared because it was the time to do so.

The pent up demonic energy within the grounds of this realm has finally awaken after a sacrifice is taken by the ghostly hands.

The only sacrifice to survive had been Ye Gui Feng and this primarily has to do with the Jiangshi that he keeps by his side.

The dark palace is represented by the dark dragon, the skeletal figure who had once been the master of this land.

The golden dragons are a representation of those that had opposed the skeletal figure when it had been alive.

Even after death those individuals have left behind their will and transformed it into these eight dragons.

These golden dragons are wills left behind by the members of the sect that used to occupy this land. Through the passage of time these wills have not weakened one bit.

Instead they have continued to grow in strength by absorbing the vast amount of magic energy that is within this realm to nurture itself prior to exploding in such a manner.

[You all have already died. So why bother to do this?]

Gazing upon the eight golden dragons the skeletal figure seemingly sighs as dark mist exudes from its mouth.
