I opened my eyes and saw I'm on my bed,  Dia sat on a chair next to my bed engrossed in her phone. My throat felt dry and parched.

I tried to sit and that brought Dia's attention back to me. "How are you feeling now? I will get some food for you."  She said standing up.

"I just need some water." I croaked out.

She poured a glass of water from the jug into a glass and passed it to me. I gulped it fast and extended the glass for more. After having the second glass my thirst is quenched.

I heard some yelling from the living room. I stood up from the bed my body felt so weak and I struggled to stand straight on my feet. Dia immediately held me, giving me support.

"Take me downstairs," I commanded her.

"You can talk later. You need to first eat something and then rest." She argued back. And honestly eating and resting are the last thing on my mind at this moment.

I tried to wriggle out of her grip and walk forward. Sighing she came near me and helped me through the corridor. Once I neared the staircase.

''I have given you one damn work William. That is to edit the video. And you still can't make it right." Peter shouted at Mr. Quinn

"I'm sorry Mr. Brown. I told my assistant to edit the video but I didn't know that he left the original one in the same folder. If only I checked it once before showing it to Amelia." Mr. Quinn replied dejectedly.

"Peter, I told you, there is no need to show her the video. We can convince her without it. But now because of that video, she is lying unconscious on her bed. Who can bear to see their parents die in front of their eyes?" Uncle Raj yelled at Peter.

"Watching it will only make the old wounds open up. Poor child" Aunt Seema tutted.

I can't see my loved ones fighting or arguing, worse when you know the reason is you. I gripped the golden railing of the spiral marble staircase tight unknowingly.

"She will never agree to this if not for the video. She is too stubborn to take orders. Now there is a chance that she may agree knowing it's her father's last wish." Peter replied.

I closed my eyes and tears rolled out of them.

"She's not the only one getting married here. Jason should also agree to this wedding. We couldn't force either of them." Grandpa said calmly making all heads turn to him.

Peter looked around the living room and threw a questioning look at Kristina. That is when I noticed Jason isn't present there.

"He left immediately after Amy lost consciousness. I tried to stop him but..." Kristina replied.

"How long am I unconscious?" I whisper-asked Dia.

"A little more than 15 minutes."

"I will make sure Jason agrees to this one way or another," Peter replied determined.

I walked back to my room with Dia. " I need some privacy," I told her.

She looked discouraged to leave me alone but gave up seeing my lifeless stare, "Just ping me if you need anything." Saying she left the room.

I took my phone from the nightstand. I tried calling Jason but the call didn't get through. I sent him a message.

I need to talk with you.

I don't know how long I waited for his reply before I dozed off.

I snuggled closer taking a long whiff of the familiar smell of lemons. Arms wrapped around my waist pulling me closer. This feels so nice.

I opened my eyes drowsily to see baby blue eyes staring into mine.

"I missed you, sis-in-law" He smiled at me.

"Oh my God! Ryan! I missed you too." I threw my hands around his neck and jumped on him.

This is what I need now! My best friend! So many emotions clouded my brain overwhelming me but his scent calmed me. And then it struck me, he called me sis in law!

"I'm not your sis-in-law," I grumbled snuggling into the hug.

"Yet" He chuckled earning a whack on his back from me.

I pulled away snorting.

"Come on now. This is not how a bride should be when the wedding is 12days away. Look at those dark circles and hollow cheeks. You look hideous."  He made a disgusted face eyeing me up and down.

"I didn't agree to the wedding." I crossed my hands at my chest.

"You will," he said as a matter of fact. "I mean come on why are you not agreeing to it... I still can't understand."

"Yeah for starters I want it when I'm ready and obviously not a few weeks before my 19th birthday... and  it's Jason!" I cried out emphasizing Jason's name.

"You should be happy that it's Jason, Missy, what if it's someone you never knew like some stranger."

Seeing me still lost in thoughts he continued. "Who is your most favorite person in this world? Like whom do you love the most?" He asked me.

"It's you, Duh"

"Then why does Jason's presence in the room makes you completely forget me..even when I'm right in front of you. You both literally get pulled into your world forgetting everything and everyone around."

"Yeah, that's because he says or does something to get on my nerves and I can't help but get back to him." I pouted.
