I took a deep breath while glancing at Kai'sa. She placed her hand on my shoulder with a sympathetic smile.

I can't tell her, not now.

I shook my head in shame before sitting down on the couch.

Me: "Kai'sa..."

She sat next to me and crossed her legs

I have to lie to her.

Me: "I..."

I don't want to lie to her.

I placed my hand on my chin.

Me: "I was having a nightmare about Ma."

I'm sick of lying

She looked concerned as she scooted a little closer. As I grip the couch cushion lightly, a deep pit forms in my stomach.

I'm sorry Kai'sa

Me: "I've been having recurring nightmares for the past few days."

She placed her hand in mine, before closing her fingers around my own. I grit my teeth, she seemed to notice.

Kai'sa: "It's okay, I understand if you don't want to tell me."

I faked a smile and thanked her. She smiled back, but her smile was genuine. It made my chest hurt.

Me: "Y'know something, you're too nice Kai'sa."

She blushed at me with a puzzled look.

Kai'sa: "I-Is that a bad thing?"

I shook my head and smiled

Me: "No, not necessarily."

I stretched as I stood up.

Me: "But some people don't deserve it."

People like me.

She grabs my hand, I look down at her with my eyebrow raised.

Kai'sa: "I think everyone deserves a little kindness."

I chuckled and gripped her hand, then I pull her up to her feet. She let out a surprised yelp in response.

Where are the others? I glance back at Kai'sa

Me: "Hey Kai'sa, are we alone?"

She nodded

Me: "Hmm, good."

She blushed a deeper shade of red. I quickly realize what I accidentally implied.

Me: "W-woah not like that."

I let go of her hand and scratch my head sheepishly.

She was glancing at the floor with her arms crossed over her chest.

Kai'sa: "I-It's fine, I k-know what you meant to say. T-the others are still out shopping."

I rubbed my face and tried not to show how embarrassed I was. Both of us stood in awkward silence. Unfortunately, it was interrupted by the grumbling of my stomach. She looked at me and I looked at her.

Kai'sa: "Are you hungry?"

I chuckled nervously.

Me: "Maybe a little."

She seemed to grow confident after that.

Kai'sa: "Would you like to cook with me?"

I scrunched my face in surprise.

She wants to cook with... me?

Me: "Uh, yeah, I'd love to."

She cheered up and smiled before turning around and walking to the kitchen.
