Chapter 16

Ariana's POV.

"Ric..." It was mom but he didn't diverted his eyes and kept looking at my face.

He wiped my tears off and asked softly,"What happened? Why are you crying...hnnn?" He asked and I bited my lips to control my tears. I closed my eyes resting my forehead on his chest.

I felt his hand on my head,"Sshh stop crying." He patted my back.

"What's going on here?" He said loudly and dad came forward,"None of your concern."

"Of course it is. If this is physical violence i won't be tolerating it. Now tell me why is she crying? What you did to her?" He sounded angry and furious. I can still feel his hand on my back.

No one dare to say anything. The room had pin drop silence.

"Tell me!" He shouted and i shivered along with everyone.

My heartbeat increased. I felt strangely good seeing someone standing up for me when he doesn't even know the reason.

I looked at him. He had his jaw clenched and his hand turned in a fist. His veins popping out in anger and eyes turned red. I felt so secure with him.

He looked so intimidating at that moment no one will dare to mess with. Not even Rodrigo.

"She's not feeling well..." Grandmother tried to speak and he gave her a glare and she shut her mouth up,"Then you should take care of her!" He said to her and she looked at Rodrigo.

"Don't worry everything is fine. Okay." He said caressing my head  and i nodded.

He looked at everyone and then me,"If she's not feeling well then as a family you all should take care of her. And i know this is not the reason." He said and dad looked disturbed with his words. He badly wanted to argue with him but sensing his level of anger he couldn't.

For the first time I've seen him helpless infront of someone,"If she ever cried again..." He wiped my fresh tears,"I swear I'll make each and everyone pay for it whoever is the reason behind it." He said looking at me and I feel butterflies inside. His words sounded magical. As if healing my fresh wounds. What is this feeling?

"Scarlett she's your younger sister. You should take care of her." He taunted her and she nodded,"I'll take care of her."

For some moment no body said anything. Mom looked at him and asked.

"What happened Ric? Do you need something?" He looked at mom.

"Do I need a reason?I mean you never ask this when I used to came her in childhood." He said cutely and mom smiled at him,"and i know you never ask this to Belle and Derek..."

"I'm sorry I'm sorry...Come sit." She said and he sat on the couch.

"Mom send some berries for you." He said giving a box to mom looking at me. He knew I love berries.

He looked at dad and gave him a cold look.

"This papers are sent by dad." He gave some documents to him.

"Ric dear what would you like to have?" Mom asked politely while dad was busy in reading the documents.

"Water would do."

"What are you looking at?Go get some water for him." Grandma said and i turned towards kitchen.

"Nobody, i repeat nobody will talk to her like that. Understood." He ordered and her face was worth watching,"She's not your servant. And I bet you never talked to Scarlett like that am i right?" Dad glared at her and she apologized to me.
