Kasumi's Past (10): Fighting Cerberus

While the Cerberus Sisters were talking to each other, the 7 families weren't just idling around.

"Kiyomi, Asami, and I will take the vanguard. Ozara, Aimi, Qadir, and Anzu will be assassins, Fumihito, Ainu, Jun, and Aratani will be tanks, while Kaede, Mamiko, and Feronia will be supporters". Fenriru Goro said while looking back at us.

We then bolted towards the Cerberus all at once with spells being constructed and weapons in hand, fully knowing we had little chance of killing it, even though all seven of us fought with good coordination.

[Deactivated: Shapeshift (Kitsune)]

I deactivated my true form for two reasons. The first reason is, my true form is more efficiently used in 1 against many, while the second reason is my stamina would drain rapidly when I'm in my true form, which I needed to conserve for this fight.

I then summoned my katanas and imbued them with my Fox-Fire Magic and soon both of my katanas were radiating with a white and blue flame with white lightning flickering along the blade.

The others also imbued their weapons with their specialized magic while also bolting toward their opponent.

Qadir and Anzu soon disappeared into the shadows, which Ozara and Aimi followed afterwards. They were going to be staying in the shadows looking for chances for a critical hit.

I disappeared from my spot by using short range teleportation and slashed my katana at its neck.

*Swish!!

The Cerberus dodged the attack by a hair, causing my slash to cut through the air, but I was able to change the trajectory instantly and  slashed my katana towards the it's leg.

*Clangg!!

It blocked my attack with its claw, which sent me flying backward a few meters because of the force of the shockwave from the clash, which formed a giant crater instantaneously.

Soon Goro and his wife appeared above it with lightning and wind magic, which instantly struck it, leaving no chance to dodge.

Before it could get any chance to retaliate, two figures appeared from out of the shadows with two daggers in hand with shadow magic radiating on the blades.

*shatter!

The four daggers shattered when it came in contact with its hide, which was covered with a black mana barrier, which gave the feeling of death if anyone touched it.

The Cerberus didn't give them anytime to breathe before it launched a wave made out of that black mana.

*Swish!!

The two assassins entered the shadow world in time before the attack, but were still hit by the attack,since the attack tore through the shadow world even though it should have been impossible to do so.

The two assassins then appeared behind us with the black mana inside the injury, which was halting the regeneration ability of them and further increasing the leg injury, but the worst part was that it was devouring their vitality.

"Feronia use Life Magic, since they were most likely hit by Death Magic". I telepathically said to Feronia.

"I will try, but I am not that proficient at it. At most, what I can do is restore their vitality and partially heal their wounds, but they won't be able to continue fighting". Feronia said telepathically with a concerned expression.

"That's troublesome, but just do it anyway, since it is better to have them alive". I said while using short ranged teleportation towards the Cerberus.

I struck my katana at it once again, which it responded by blocking it with death magic, which neither injured me or shattered my katana, since my katana was infused with light magic which counteracts against death magic.

I was once again launched from the force of the opponent's attack, but this time, I pivoted my foot so instead of being launched backwards, I would be launched sideways, which allowed me to slash my katana once again, but this time I aimed for its stomach.

*Clack!!

My attack once again was blocked by its claws. It was just too strong and quick to land a lethal hit. For us to at least have a fighting chance, we would at least need 5-10 more High Master Tiers, but that's only if it kept fighting how it was fighting now.

Currently, it was playing with its prey, since no matter what we did, we couldn't deal any significant amount of damage and would slowly drain our stamina until we had none left.

"There is most likely another reason why it isn't killing us instantly. The only possible reason that I can think of is that it could go easy on us is that Hades told them not to kill us, but why would he keep us alive if he said that he wanted to take over this territory? There had to be a deeper meaning to this, but I still can't figure it out no matter how much I think about this".

"I doubt it was Hades who wanted something from us, so it must be the Vampire Queen, but. Even with this clue, it leads to nowhere. All I know is that she is planning something against us". I thought while fighting Cerberus.

"I need a buff". I shouted out with a serious expression.

[Stat Boost]

+5% AGI, +5% STR, +5% DEX, +5% STA, +5% Const, +5% INT

I felt a power surge throughout my body, which rejuvenated every nook and cranny of my body, making me stronger and lighter, which gave me a high chance of hitting a lethal attack.

[Regeneration Boost]

+15% Mana Regen, +15% Stamina regen

As soon as I received the buff, I felt my nearly empty mana start to increase quicker, allowing me to have more attack power in my attacks and have more room for more powerful spells.

"Thanks". I yelled out once again while once again attacking it after using short ranged teleportation, but this time it was faster than before.

*Clangg!!

Even with the increased speed and strength from the buff, I still wasn't able to contend with it, but this time I wasn't sent backwards as easily, so I was able to redirect the force, which allowed me to attack once again.
