3. Some Fairytale

Thank God, for Laken and Valan. Both of them are amazing friends a guy could ask for or at this point life savers.

I have known Laken since a small child, he might as well be the brother I never had. Valan came to know us right after she finished high school, her and Laken hit it off. They are perfect together.

Thing is Laken is thirty-two years old and I am thirty-three. Many have tried to speak down on the fact that Laken and Valan have a seven year age gap, but they are happy so that is what matters.

To be honest up until seeing how Laken and Valan act together, I had thought love was just some fairytale and only in books or movies. It seemed to just be an illusion to me that two people could come together and be each others perfect person.

Is there such thing as perfect in this world we live in? Sure maybe in some things but with how I was raised I didn't think love was one of them. Not that it has ever happened for me and I doubt it ever will.

The only thing I know is the fact I prefer to be in control at all times.

This little issue with the catering company I have used for years, before I used them my mother did, just up and informed us they can't hold up to the job on Saturday. Something about a few of their workers had up and quite, leaving them under handed. So they dropped tending to my event.

I don't plan to use them again, that is one thing I can vow now. If it wasn't for Laken and Valan then my event would have not been at the top it has to be for Saturday. That is if they can get Valan's boss to accept the job.

It is not like I can just reschedule this event either. Not when I have buyers from overseas coming to the event, to try and branch the womens clothing lines even further.

My mother started this company so many years ago and it was just the basics of pants, shirts, and dresses of various kinds. She met my father when she needed a seamstress. They hit it off and actually have reverse roles at home. Dad is the boss and Mom follows, guess it balances them out.

That is how I knew about the world of dominant and submissive. Talk about the embrassing conversation as a preteen, when it came to the sex talk. I found out all about it but more on the lines of the BDSM. So there is one reason I have never seen love, and I honestly have no clue if my parents actually love each other.

They had me as a accident. That has always been honest and clear. I never wanted for anything as a child in material things.

It was strange once I started spending time with Laken and how his parents were so different from mine. With Laken, it shocks me sometimes that he is into the dominant and submissive style. Then again Laken, like myself is always in control.

Together Laken and I make a strong team. Many give us some weird looks for the fact we are both in womens clothing.

For me though, I may like control but there is nothing more I like that to see a woman smile. I prefer for women to feel powerful and confident. One way I can help do that for women is to make sure they feel comfortable in everything they may wear.

Which has lead me to making sure Scenix Clothing designs and makes every type of womens clothing available. About the only thing we don't have much of is wedding dresses, those tend to be fickle. Mother comes up with those when she is tired of doing nothing in retirement.

"Hey man, Valan is asking her friend and boss about the catering we need Saturday currently." Laken walks into my office.

"Thanks. Please let her know how much I appreciate this."

"Already done. Also gave her the list of the foods that we had required the others to have." Laken sits in the chair with his tablet.

I grab my phone and send Valan a quick text.

'That list of food doesn't have to be exactly to the level. I understand this is last minute, but I ask that it is at least elegant with the guest coming. Let your boss know I am paying double the original price for this job offer with a portion up front.'

"I just sent Valan a message to let her know about paying the owner of the catering business more and the list doesn't have to be specific but elegant." I place the phone down and look at Laken.

He nods and puts his tablet on the desk. "Now for the other part of the event. I got the models coming in around three in the afternoon to start dressing, that way they are ready to walk around to showcase the new designs by five."

I slowly nod and check that off the list in front of me that needed to be checked over.

"What about the hotel rooms for several of the main buyers coming in?" I move to the computer and check their flights are still booked.

"The best suites are reserved just a block from our building here." Laken replies with ease.

"Good that is the best hotel in the city. Now to make sure all the decorations are done and placed by tomorrow night. I don't want anything having to be done Saturday other than making sure the clothes are lined up and ready for the models."

"Done and done. The decorations are right at complete, just waiting on some lights that should come in the morning. Apparently, an entire strand of lights went out just as things were getting put up." He taps on the tablet again.

I nod and look through the list and keep checking things off.

"What about the contracts for the models? I don't see them in the file." I click to refresh it.

"Those should be in by midnight tonight from what our legal team stated."

"Well, the ladies know they get paid immediately to the bank account they provided once the night is done. Hopefully, all of the same ladies will be modeling for us to where that is one less issue to figure out last minute." I grunt, before rubbing a hand down my face.

I lean back in the chair and loosen my tie slighty. As a ping sounds through the office.

Laken moves and pulls his phone from his suit pocket. "Valan says they are a go on catering, her boss took the job."

I let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, that is no longer a issue.
