I was sitting in the Salvatore living room reading one of their many books where my phone went off. I leaned over and checked the Caller ID. It was Elena. I reached over and answered the call. "What's up, my favorite sister?" I asked.

"Kol just tried to kill Bonnie." I sat up straight as she explained.

"What?" I asked.

"He tried to kill her. He isn't going to stop until everyone who is looking for the cure is dead." She explained in a rushed voice. "I need you over here like now."

"Okay, I am leaving right now," I said as I stood up from the chair I was in. I made my way downstairs to the torture chamber. I don't really know why I will tell Klaus I'm leaving, but it feels like second nature.

"You know none of this would be an issue if you'd have just done your job properly." I heard Klaus say as I stopped at the stairs just before the door. "I was perfectly willing to let you train Jeremy."

"No, you weren't. Are you kidding?" Damon said as I sat down on the steps. "You got there on Day two. Do you know how hard it is to get these X-box brains to focus?"

"And then when I turned a room full of barflies into vampires for him to slaughter, you let Kol kill them."

"Your brother problem, not mine, buddy," Damon commented.

"And whose bright idea was it to saddle Jeremy with a conscience, hmm?" Klaus asked as I heard him pace.

"Well, we couldn't have him trying to stake Elena in her sleep, could we?" Damon countered.

"Ah, yes, for the love of Elena. How is it that she manages to overlook every horrific thing you've ever done?" Klaus asked. "Is it willful ignorance or perhaps something more pathological?"

"Some people are just more capable of forgiveness than others. Bet you score a negative 500 in that realm." Damon mocked.

"Come on. There must be a secret. It can't just be the sire bond. What is it? Compulsion? Manipulation? What is it you say to her?" Klaus finally asked the question he was getting at.

"I think this has something to do with either a blonde vampire or the littlest Gilbert girl. May I right?" Damon Stated. "I think you murdered Carol Lockwood, and I think you're worried they won't ever forgive you."

"You've done worse." Klaus slowly stated. He's not denying that he is worried about Caroline.

"Debatable. See, I don't mind being the bad guy because someone has to fill that role and get things done. You do bad things for no reason. You do them to be a dick."

"Debatable," Klaus stated.

"If you're gonna be bad, be bad with purpose. Otherwise, you're just not worth forgiving." Damon advised. "Isn't that right, D?"

I rolled my eyes and stood up from my spot on the steps. I walked into the cell where both vampires were. "It's not the best advice but not the worst," I said as I turned to Klaus. "And Damon's right. I will never forgive you for what you did. But at least you know about it." I said as I left the cell and the house without another word.
