"Hey, guys, I have to go to the school and help clean, so I will be back later," I told my siblings who were painting the master bedroom.
"Since when do you clean?" Jeremy laughed as Elena turned to me with a smile.
"Since Bex signed me up and Care asked me too." I sighed as I waved at them.
"Be careful, D." Elena said as I walked down the stairs.
I opened the front door and yelled back, "Always." I smiled as I made my way to my car.
I climbed in and drove to school. I walked up the parking lot and opened the door. I was looking down at my phone when I heard a loud bam. I snapped my head up as I turned down the hallway with the noise. I stepped into the hall and saw Bex and Caroline stabbed Rick. He stood there for a moment before he pulled the stake out of his jacket. when he looked back up, the two were gone. I took a step back in fear. But he seemed to hear me because his head snapped to me. He started to step toward me but I quickly turned away and ran. I ran out the way I came. I pulled out my phone and dialed a random phone number. The phone rang for a bit before he answered. "Hello?"
"Damon, I..." But I was stopped by a hand grabbing the back of my neck and slamming me forward into the ground. My phone left my hand and away from me. I looked up to see Rick with a smile on his face. He stepped closer to me and crushed my phone under his foot. I watched as his skin burned under the rays of the sun.
"Well, look what I just caught." He said as he leaned down to pick me up. "I taught Klaus bait." He commented as I struggled to get free. I looked over his shoulder to see Bex standing and watching from afar. She was just about to come over and help when I lifted my hand to tell her to stop.
When it looked like she wasn't listening, I waved my hand at her and threw energy towards her. "Incendia," I said as flames surrounded the pavement. She was shocked as she moved back from the fire. I watched her hesitant as she wanted to help but the flames would not let her. She turned back to me and then left. I looked down at Rick as he carried me inside. I was just happy Bex got away.

I was sitting in a chair next to Caroline. She was strapped to a desk with vervain soaked cloth around her mouth. I watched as Rick stabbed her hands with pencils. "You do know that you won't get away with this?" I stated as he turned to me.
"Because your original hybrid husband is going to come and save you." He chuckled. "He is too scared of death that he won't be coming anytime soon." He then turned to me and grabbed my wrist. "Or he is on his way right now to safe you which means you are the perfect hostage." He said as he gripped onto my wrist harder. The bone started to crack and I let out a cry from pain. "Now, be quiet while I make a phone call." He let go of my wrist and I rubbed it to make the pain go away.
