"Paul?" I asked confused, "what are you doing here?"

"I came in to get a snack before Embry and I go to Sams and figure out some stuff for work. He didn't think that you'd wake up this early but I guess I'm not the quietest person in the world" Paul replied smiling sheepishly

"Yeah" I said yawning, "you're really not"

"Go back to bed, it's been a long week and you need to rest up for tonight, there's a bonfire" Paul told me before leaving the house, leaving me standing alone in the kitchen.

I listened to Paul but instead I went into the living room and laid on the couch so that Embry could sleep in his bed when he got back home.

Paul

"You told me that she would be asleep!" I said, getting into my truck

"Who? My mom?" Embry asked me confused

"No you idiot! Serena! I wasn't prepared to have a baseball bat flying at my face at 6:30 in the morning!"

"Wait, she swung at you?"

"Yes! Wouldn't you if you saw a giant man rummaging through your kitchen at 6 in the morning?"

"How did you get caught? I told you to be quiet!"

"I don't know! She could have excellent hearing?"

"My bedroom is on the opposite side of the house, how could she hear it from that far away?"

"I don't know, maybe I was making a little noise? But your mom didn't wake up!"

"I just had a thought that I don't think any of us will like very much"

"Well what is it? Spit it out!"

"She has the gene"

"No! I refuse to have my imprint in that much danger! Being my imprint is bad enough, with all the vampires running around she's a target, and she'll be a bigger one if she phases!" I yelled, stepping out of my truck after parking it at Sam and Emily's house

"You don't think I know this!" Embry yelled, following me outside, "I just got her back and to lose her so soon would kill me, especially if it was to a vampire!"

"Then why bring the fact up! Maybe she was already awake and walking to the kitchen when she heard me? Maybe she was right outside the kitchen when she heard me!" I yelled back, shaking from anger

"How did you not here her outside of the kitchen then!"

"Because I wasn't paying attention! I'm lucky I didn't get my face smashed in with a baseball bat!"

"Yeah! Real lucky that you didn't get hit with a bat after you scared the crap out of your own imprint!" Embry yelled and I exploded, I phased into my wolf within seconds and snarled at Embry, who in turn phased as well

I launched myself at him, tackling him to the ground. We started snapping at each other and rolled into the woods next to Sam and Emily's house.

Jacob

"Hey Em, what's up?" I asked, answering my phone after it woke me up

"Embry and Paul are going at each others throats in the woods next to my house and I need you to break them up!" Emily explained in a rush

"Why me? What's Sam doing?"

"He's patrolling because of all the sightings, remember? He has people running 24/7 now"

"Shit, I forgot about that, I'll be there in a minute" I said before hanging up the phone call.

I sprinted out of my house and into the woods where I took of my clothes and shifted, before running to Emily's house.

I found Paul and Embry fighting about a hundred feet into the woods, where people might be able to see them if they tried hard enough.

"Paul! Embry!" I growled through the link, gaining the attention of not only both of them, but also Sam who was patrolling in the other side of the territory, "break it up! That's enough!"

"Stay out of this Jacob! This is a fight between me and him!" Paul growled, snapping at Embry again and tearing a chunk of his fur out

"Leave us alone Jake! Go bother Bella!" Embry growled making me growl back at him, Bella is a sensitive subject.

"Do not bring Bella into this! Now what the hell is going on!"  I growled and they both stopped to growl at me before they both continued to fight each other

"Paul! Embry! Stand down!" Sam called, walking up to us. Embry quickly bowed his head but Paul was trying to fight the order, "now Paul!"

Paul finally bowed his head and both of them stopped fighting each other, both wolves with fur missing and scratches everywhere. "What the hell is going on here?" Sam growled out

"I said something that made Paul tick and he phased" Embry replied

"What did you say?" Sam asked

"That she has the gene" Embry said

"That who has the gene?" I asked them

"Serena" Paul replied, growling at Embry again

"That's it!" Sam growled, "Jacob, go patrol until I come to switch out with you! Paul, Embry, come with me!"

Embry

"What the hell Embry?" Sam asked as soon as we were inside his house in our human forms, "why would you say that about his imprint! You know he's a hothead!"

"Because it's a fact! She's our sister! I phased so I have the gene! She is my twin so she has it too!" I exclaimed

"She not going to phase! I won't let her!" Paul growled at me

"She does have the gene Paul, and it was impossible a few months ago, but now that Leah phases we know that Serena could too" Sam said

"I want to tell her" Paul said suddenly causing Sam and I to look at him in shock

"What?" I exclaimed

"We came here to talk about when we were going to tell her that we're wolves, I want to tell her now" Paul said

"No! We just got her! We can't scare her away!" I yelled

"Paul, you want to tell her because you want to keep her safe, I know I felt the same with Emily, but right now isn't the time to tell her, she just met all of us so if we tell her that we're wolves she'll go running" Sam explained

"Fine, but I'm going to go hang out with her. Are you coming now Embry? Or are you going to walk back?" Paul asked me, heading for the door

"You go ahead, I'll stay here for a bit" I replied, then I watched him and Sam leave the house
