"Hey girlie" Kim said walking into my room and waking me up, "heard you had a bit of a rough night last night with the storm"
"Yeah, it was a bit rough, where's Embry?" I asked her, sitting up
"He went out with the guys, which means it's a girls day! With me, you, Emily, and Leah!"
"Wait, Leah?"
"Yeah, you know who she is don't you? She's Seths older sister"
"Yeah, I, just, why is she coming? She's rude to us"
"Well, she needs some friends, and Sams making us so we have no choice"
"But don't we have school?"
"Yeah, but not today, they canceled it because a few trees went down next to the building during the storm last night"
"Did any go down at other places?"
"Oh yeah, like 6 went down last night, but it's ok because half of them were gonna be chopped down soon anyway"
"Why would they dug the trees down?"
"They just get in the way, now hurry up and get dressed because Leah is so impatient and you do not want to deal with her when she's hungry"
"Ok, I'm hurrying, where are we going anyway?"
"We're going to get breakfast at the diner in Forks and then go to PA to go shopping!"
"PA?"
"Oh, shit, forgot you're uncultured, PA is Port Angeles, it's a big city about an hour away with a bunch of stores"
"Ahh, now get out so I can change" I said, shoving her out of the room
Once I was changed I went out to Kim's car where she was waiting, "I don't know if o can trust you driving me places, you did get into a wreck like last week"
"Relax, I'm not a terrible driver," she said, whipping out of the driveway, "I'm just not a good one either"
"Kim that's a stop sign!" I yelled as she ran 2 in a row, almost hitting another car
"Fuck, I really have to pay attention to the road more"
"How long have you had you're license for?"
"Um, about 2 years, why?"
"Who the hell decided that it would be a good idea to pass you?"
"Hey! And besides, I failed the first 2. Pretty sure they were just sick of me crying and complaining after figuring out that I failed but it's whatever, I passed!"
"Who is driving to Port Angeles?"
"Leah is, she has the best gas mileage and her seats are really comfy, now let's go loser they're waiting in her car already"
"Finally you're here, I'm starving!" Leah groaned from the drivers seat as we were climbing into the backseat of her car.
We arrived at the diner in Forks, a place I had never been but where my fake parents went all the time, at least twice a week. Leah looked around the place until she spotted a blonde worker, and smiled large.
Leah led us to a table in the back section of the diner and we sat at a booth, only for the blonde girl to walk up to us and take our drink orders. Leah continued to watch the worker after she left our table, still smiling.
The worker came back to our table with our drinks and set them in front of us, "can I get you guys something to eat?" She asked us
"I'll have the scrambled eggs with hash browns and a waffle" Emily told the waitress and in turn the waitress nodded
"Can I have 2 pancakes with mixed fruit?" Kim asked the girl, smiling when the waitress nodded
"I'll just have a waffle and some fruit please" I said when it was my turn to order
"And for you?" The waitress asked Leah, who was spaced out with a dreamy look in her eyes
"Leah!" Emily hissed, elbowing Leah in the side
"Oh! Right! Sorry! I'll have 5 pancakes with a double of scrambled eggs, double hash browns and fruit please" Leah said, breaking out of her trance
"Alrighty, can I get you girls anything else?" The waitress asked, winking at Leah
"I don't think so, thank you" Emily said and the waitress left to get our food made
"She was totally checking you out Leah!" Kim almost screamed, jumping around in her seat
"Really!" Leah exclaimed
"Yeah, Le, maybe you should ask for her number!" Emily said, smiling bright
"I don't know, that's not really my thing" Leah said, looking down
"Here's your good for you, if you need any help just wave me over" the waitress said placing our food on the table
"You guys, look! She gave me her number!" Leah exclaimed
"Really! That's awesome Leah! Now let's eat so we can go shopping!" Kim exclaimed with a mouth full of food
After we were done eating we all got into the car and started the drive to Port Angeles. "Ohh I love this song! Turn it up!" Kim yelled and Emily turned up the radio
"Let's go chasing stars this evening! Eyes wide shut and fast cars dreaming! Oh, we're tripping at the speed of light! Who thought this would be paradise!" Kim scream sung
"Bro! Chill out a little bit! My ears are sensitive remember!" Leah yelled
"Oh right, I forgot about that, sorry Leah" Kim said and continued singing
"What's that?" I asked
"What's what?" Emily asked
"That thing in the road! Watch out Leah!" I yelled, pointing to the human like figure in the middle of the road that we were approaching at a fast rate
Leah swerved the car, the back tires going onto the shoulder causing the car to swerve and go into the ditch. The person disappeared and reappeared in front of the car within a second, slamming their hands on the hood and denting it.
The person looked me straight in the eyes and I gasped at what I saw, they were bright red. Leah began to shake and she got out of the car, then she disappeared. A giant wolf like the ones outside of my house took her place.
"Holy shit! What the hell happened to Leah!" I screamed, watching as the wolf attacked the human, "why is the wolf attacking that person!"
