Crown Entertainment is a company that’s been around for two decades, with many movie stars and popular idols under their wing.

Its impressive capital and connections give it enough wealth to purchase a property right in the CBD.

And after the two people left the place, it was an hour and a half by car before they reached this so-called ‘Xinwen Entertainment And Management Company Ltd.’

You Haoyu almost thought they might have taken a wrong turn somewhere seeing the small building and decrepit looking facilities when he gets off the car.

Compared to the exuberant appearance of Crown Entertainment, this looks much more like a small workshop. Even the sign hanging outside the building looks like it’ll fall down at any time having been worn down by the elements.

You Haoyu thought it was that person who helped him, but this dilapidated place immediately convinced him otherwise.

Attorney Fang has taken a few steps forward, then turns around in confusion seeing the person not following him, “Mr. You?”

Realising his guess was wrong, You Haoyu immediately wants to leave. A rickety company in such a remote location couldn’t help but invite one imagining a few well-built men appearing out of nowhere and then forcing him to sign.

Attorney Fang seems to realise what he’s thinking, “we’re in the 21st century, so there won’t be any forced contract or whatever. The boss is waiting for you.”

Since he did ask to come himself, You Haoyu can only follow along, “this run-down little shack can help pay for all my penalties?”

“That’s right,” attorney Fang acts as if in thought, “one year since founding and it’s already deep in red ink. If not for the recent investment it would probably have gone under already.”

You Haoyu pauses for a moment.

He should probably work out an escape route right now.

The two of them are already inside the building after that small chat.

Compared to its outside, the inside isn’t exactly shabby. Most everything is in light shades of grey, looking quite cold.

The carpeting is thick and there is no reception, so the whole place is eerily quiet. There isn’t a single employee in sight. Attorney Fang leads him inwards, looking quite familiar with the place.

At last, they stop in front of a door, and the attorney knocks on the door, “sir, I’ve taken Mr. Haoyu here.”

Shortly after, the door is opened by a lady wearing glasses.

You Haoyu thought she looked familiar, and looking inside, on the innermost chair is the familiar man wearing his suit and tie.

It’s almost 5 in the afternoon now, and the sun is well into its descent. The sky is darkening, but the remaining rays of sunlight are pouring in through the glass window onto the chiselled nose bridge of the man.

You Haoyu’s intuition was correct, but he’s still surprised, asking, “…why.”

Du You stands up and says, “I told you that I wanted to see you act.”

“This is a company Mr. Du acquired earlier,” assistant Xiao pushes her glasses, “it’s small so that HR would have an easier time dealing with them.”

As it was badly managed, it was quite cheap to acquire Xinwen Entertainment. Of course, the cost is still astronomical to normal people, but it’s practically small change to the Du Conglomerate.
