Y/N watched with wide eyes as Nicholas battled with the Haas for tenth position. It was race day at the Canadian Grand Prix, Nicholas' home race, and he was ready to show his home crowd what he was made of. Y/N watched through the screens in the Williams garage as Nicholas went through the inside of the Haas at Turn 13 and she gasped in horror as a nudge from the Haas pushed Nicholas into the infamous Wall of Champions. The entire garages erupted in shouts of protest and horror as the car, that seemed destined to get Williams their first points of the season, was currently squeezed along the wall with its front wheel in the air.

The atmosphere was tense in the garage. Frustration was evident on everyone's face as they watched helplessly as Nicholas climbed out of his car and began his walk to the garage, rejecting the offer of getting a lift from the moped. It wasn't a long walk, only about 5 minutes, as he crashed at the last corner.

Since the start of the season, Nicholas, or Nick as Y/N affectionately called him, had voiced his frustrations to his team and to Y/N during the race weekend, but this was the first time that he'd had to retire the car, and at his home race no less. Nick and Y/N had been together for nearly a year, she'd seen him succeed at F2, finishing 2nd in the championship, but watching him struggle in Formula 1 simply because he didn't have the best car was heart-breaking.

The garage suddenly became silent as Nicholas charged his way through, not faltering in his movement towards his driver's room. At he passed Y/N, she put her hand of his shoulder to slow him down, but he simply brushed her off and continued in his stride through and out of the garage. Feeling somewhat embarrassed that her boyfriend had ignored her in front of all these people, and possible a lot more; judging by the camera outside the Williams garage, Y/N charged after him, abandoning her belongings in the garage and following him to his driver's room.

Y/N gently knocked the door but entered anyway when she received no answer. Nicholas was stood, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed across his chest and a frown present on his face. "It's not your fault, you know. The Haas bumped into you." Nicholas looked up at her and let out a humph.

"That doesn't matter. This is my first home Grand Prix!"

"You will have plenty more home Grand Prix's to prove yourself, this one just wasn't meant to be, but there is still the rest of the season to go." Y/N said trying to make her boyfriend feel better about his car retirement. Nicholas stared at her, "I just want to be alone for now before I have to go to media."

"Don't be disappointed about it. There's nothing you could've done. They're investigating the crash and the Haas will probably get a penalty."

Nicholas leaped off the wall and moved passed Y/N to the door, grabbing the handle, he pulled the door open, "I think it's best if you leave." Y/N jaw dropped. She couldn't believe that Nicholas was telling her to leave after she was only trying to comfort him. she knew he was competitive and that it hurt to have to retire at his home race, but that didn't mean he had to be a dick about it. With a humph, Y/N left his room without so much as a glance in his direction. If Nicholas wanted to be a dick, then Y/N was going to be as petty as she could be. Y/N stormed through the hospitality, collecting her belongings from the garage and then with out so much as a glance to anyone, she left the paddock, taking a taxi to the hotel. If Y/N was being honest with herself, she really wasn't that annoyed with Nick – she simply wanted him to feel as though she was and to then grovel for her forgiveness. It might've seemed quite sinister, after all he'd just retired from his home race, but in Y/N's eyes, he shouldn't be taking that out on her.

It was over an hour later that Nick finally arrived at the hotel room. Y/N could hear how cautiously he was walking into the room and a smile appeared on her lips, knowing that she'd made him nervous.

"Hey babe," Nick said nervously, standing at the foot of their bed scratching the back of head.

"Hi." Y/N said nonchalantly, determined not to give him any attention and instead focused on her phone. Nicholas stared at her with a confused expression. "Oh, do you need something?" Y/N asked, finally glancing up from her phone to look at him, he furrowed his eyebrows and continued to stare at her.

"Would you look at me?" Nicholas finally burst.

"I am."

"I beg to differ. What's wrong with you? As far as I'm concerned, I'm the one who had to retire from their home race."

"What wrong with me? My boyfriend embarrassed me in front of his entire team and when I tried to comfort him, he basically told me to get lost!" Y/N retorted slamming her phone down on the bed beside her and standing up from the bed while Nicholas stared at her with raised eyebrows.

"I'm sorry." He finally said after a few minutes of silence. He moved closer to Y/N, grabbing her hands, intertwining their fingers and pulling her closer to him, allowing him to wrap his arms around her waist. "I shouldn't have allowed my frustration to get the better of me." Y/N looked up at him, he was much taller than her, but she didn't mind that.

"Yeah, you shouldn't have."

"I'm trying to be apologetic and caring." Y/N smirked up at him, reaching on her tip toes to press a quick kiss to his lips.

"Oops."
