Once wind broke loose that Red Bull Formula 1 driver, Max Verstappen, had a daughter, it was manic. His social media was going crazy and it made him appreciate that he'd told Y/N to privatise her account as he didn't want images of his daughter appearing everywhere. It was Christmas Day that Max and Y/N decided was the best time to announce that 1: they were back together, and 2: they had a daughter together. Max simply posted a photo of the three of them in front of the Christmas tree with a short caption; From my family to yours, Merry Christmas.

The reaction was instant. He got an earful from his PR manager for not warning her that he was going to publicise such an announcement, Max had told them about Y/N and Y/D/N but hadn't mentioned when he would reveal it to the world, something he definitely should have done.

It had been a whirl blown year. By the time Australia came around the F1 community was still hooked up on the fact that Max had a daughter and just about every reporter capitalised on that, nearly every interview that Max took part in involved a question about Y/D/N. Max ghosted over most of those types of questions, he would smile and say she was the best thing in his life before getting the interview redirected back to racing. After a while, with the season in full swing, news about Y/D/N was put on the back burner or well that was until the Belgium Grand Prix.

It was the first grand prix after the summer break and having spent all of break together, Max wasn't prepared to return to racing without Y/N and Y/D/N by his side, and a quick call to Christian guaranteed that they both received passes. Max kept a firm hold on Y/D/N's hand when they arrived at the circuit, the last thing they needed was for Y/D/N to get lost. She was a curious three year old and plenty of times her curiosity had nearly caused Max and Y/N to have a heart attack as she'd wander off. This was the first time that Y/D/N would be at the paddock, watching the race from the hospitality and not through the TV at home, Max and Y/N thought it was best that Y/D/N watched in the hospitality as to not damage her ears with the noise of the engines.

"Ah, Little Verstappen is joining us today!" Christian asked as he approached Max from the garage, he smiled at Y/D/N who timidly hid behind Max's legs. With a laugh, Max led her from behind his legs to stand in front of him.

"Yeah, thanks for getting us the passes on such short notice." Christian waved it off as Victoria, one of the Red Bull press officers, approached them.

"There you are! You have an interview with SkySports in 10 minutes. We need to go." Max's eyes widened, he assumed he'd have more time to settle Y/D/N and Y/N into the hospitality and then be able to sneak away from Y/D/N as lately she'd been a lot more attached to her father and seldom parted from him when he was home. Max pursed his lips together and nodded, he bent down and held Y/D/N's hands as he explained to her what was happening.

"Daddy has to go do some work, but I'll be back really soon, ok?" She nodded and grasped onto Y/N's outstretched hand. Y/N had accepted that when Max was home, it became the 'Max and Y/D/N's show', but she was fine with it as it allowed them to bond together. Max stood up to follow Victoria to the media square but was halted by the sound of shouts and then someone colliding with his legs. He didn't even need to look down to know that it was Y/D/N. He hauled her up into his arms and carried her with him to his interview, "Do you not want to stay with mummy?" She gave a definite shake of her head latching her arms around his neck, adamant that he'd not be allowed to put her down. "I have work to do, princess."

"No!" Max looked helplessly at Victoria who simply smiled and shrugged in return. They were nearing the media square and it seemed that SkySports would have to cope with an unexpected guest. From the corner of his eyes, Max could see some of the cameras focus on him and Y/D/N, understandable as this was her first time at the paddock. "Oh, she's adorable!" Natalie Pinkham squealed from the other side of the barrier that separated the them in the media square. She caressed her cheeks and gave them a little squeeze earning a giggle from Y/D/N before she lay her head on Max's shoulder, hiding her face in his neck.

"I'm meant to be interviewing you ahead of this weekend but that's all left my mind. What a cutie!" Natalie gushed, she glanced at her cue cards as if she had suddenly remembered that she was here to do a job. Natalie knew she'd be all over Instagram and twitter if she could get some answers about Y/D/N, but she also knew to respect Max's wishes as a father and focus on racing. "Right, we're expecting rain this weekend, you happen to perform quite well in the rain, Germany 2019 for example, how do you think you'll fair this weekend?"

"I think it's a bit too early to say. I enjoy the wet weather, but we'll have to see what it's like on Saturday and Sunday." Max shifted on his feet causing Y/D/N to lift her head, although she quickly lay back down. The questions continued until Natalie finally burst and let her excitement get the better of her.

"I don't think I can ignore this cutie any longer. You've got some extra support this weekend, how much does it mean to you to have this much support here this weekend?" Max smiled at Natalie and absentmindedly his hand rose to stroke circles onto his daughter's back, "Obviously I love having everyone here, it means so much. It's Y/D/N's first race so it's all new for her. Having everyone here motivates me to do better and hopefully that'll prove on Sunday." Natalie nodded in agreement, wished him luck and ended the brief interview. "Shall we go back to mummy?" Max felt Y/D/N nod against his shoulder and slowly they began the short walk back to the Red Bull hospitality, however, despite how short, Y/D/N was fast asleep by the time they arrived.
