"I want him," Peter blurted.

Derek looked away from Stiles and at his uncle with a scoff. "He deserves someone better.. as in me."

"Hey, don't count me out of this. I want Stiles, too."

"Why are all the Hales after my best friend?" Scott groaned.

"How about we let him choose," Peter suggested.

"Alright," Cora agreed.

"I don't know about that," Derek said. "He's not good on the spot."

"Please, you're just wimping out."

"No, I'm not. I'm caring about his possible feelings."

"Oh, shut up," Cora said.

"Stiles!" Peterr called.

Stiles looked back and saw all four of them standing together. He walked over and stood by Scott.

"What's up?" Stiles asked.

"Just all of them fighting over which one will date you," Stiles said, annoyed.

"Actually, no, I'm out," Derek said. "This is crazy and rude."

Derek walked away. Stiles watched him until he was no longer visible.

"So, what do you say?" Peter questioned.

"What?" Stiles looked back at him.

"We asked who you're choosing," Cora said.

Stiles hesitated, staring at the two of them in disbelief.

"I gotta go," Stiles said as he rushed to and out the door.

-later-

Stiles was in his room doing homework when there was a knock on his door.

"Come in," he called out.

His eyes stayed focused on the screen and his hands were busy typing. The door shut and the footsteps went from the door to behind him. A hand reached over his should and too his laptop. His laptop was closed and his chair was spun around.

Stiles looked up and saw Derek.

"What're you doing here?" Stiles asked.

"I came to check on you. Earlier wasn't the most ideal start to your day, I imagine."

"No," Stiles chuckled. "It wasn't."

"I also came to apologize on behalf of my family. It was uncalled for and not fair to you."

"I appreciate that."

Derek nodded.

Stiles fiddled with his fingers and looked away.

"What is it?" Derek asked.

"Earlier, when you left, was it because of me or..?"

"My feelings haven't changed. I left because that was a stupid way to win someone over. I'm sure that you can agree."

"Oh..okay."

"Why do you ask?"

Stiles shrugged and moved to messing with the part of Derek's jacket that was hanging down.

"I just... I would've said yes if you stayed."

"To me?"

Stiles nodded and looked up at him. "I was worried that you weren't going to come back."

Derek cupped Stiles's cheek. "I'll always come back to you," he whispered.
