I wake up a little later then I should but I feel strong enough to actually eat the breakfast then later on Kate's soup once more. The swallowing has minimize into a bearable pain and I'm very grateful.

After a call with Kate I go to call Tamir. "Hello my love, give me a second." A deafening shot echos through the air making me pull away from my phone. Was that...was that a..a gun shot? "I'm all ears."

My mouth opens to give him the update I prepared but no words come out, did he pick up in the middle of a job? "Halcyon?"

"Yes," I let out, "yes I...I just wanted to call to let you know that I'm doing better." I rush my words out blinking hard trying not let the memory of the first night I heard a gun shot that close come back.

"Good." The echo of his feet sound. "The syrup thing worked then."

"Yes," his attempt to make me laugh is clouded by the gun shot I just heard. "W-what are you doing?"

"You should take me out." He talks over me. "I want to see what a date with you will be like."

"Um..." I'm very much puzzled at his approach.

"Give me a time and I'll be there."

"Er-"

"I can't do tomorrow, at all." He informs me.

"Saturday then." I nod. "That should work for both of us, right?"

"Perfect, is there a dress code I should know about?"

"No," I'm distracted for a second. "Just come as you always do."

"Come around eight."

"Alright." I hear a groan on his side of the line. "I have to finish up, I'm looking forward to seeing what you got Saturday."

"Oh, okay. Till then." I remove my phone from my ear then hang up, I let out a shaky breath. I just made date plans with a guy that shot someone while on the phone with me, I run my hands in front front of my hair, what is wrong with me?!

I take the same syrup that Tamir brought for me and in no time I'm as good as new to return back to work running it as if I was never absent. It's a good flow I can follow but leave early on one of my days so I can go out and buy a little something for Tamir.

I've decided to take him rollerskating, I'm not sure if he had roller skates of his own but I kept in contact with Kent to get his size so I could buy them for Saturday. With that I bought him a set, hoodie and matching shorts that I have too. That way we'll twin.

I find myself actually looking forward to Saturday, wanting to see him outside the coffee shop. This could also be a chance for me to dig a little deeper into him, I can learn a few things.

A knock bangs at my door and I open it to Tamir. "Hi," I let him in.

"I was kind of hoping to see you in a dress," I turn to see him scanning me.

"Here." I hand him the matching set. "You can take my room or the bathroom to change, I don't mind."

"Oh I'm changing." He takes it.

"Hurry!" I shoo him off and he turns for my bedroom. I wait until the door opens once more and just seeing him in different clothes is a little surprising. "These are for you too." I hand him the roller skates. "You know how to roller skate, right?"

"A little." He takes them and I bend to help him put them on.

"It's not that hard if you already know the basics." I promise him before swinging a side bag around my neck and through and arm letting it sit at my hip. "I'm taking you roller skating." He blinks at me, I clearly caught him off guard. "We're going to have to save that dress date for some other time."

I open my door then glide out. "Come." I wave him over, by his stance I start to believe he actually doesn't know how to roller skate but then he finally glides to me with no problem, I lock up behind us.

"Carful of the stairs." I open the door to outside, the air is cool making the outfits I chose sustainable. "Okay," I turn to him after our last step, "you ready?" I put my hand out for him to take. A beat passes with him looking down at my hand.

He then responds by reaching out to me and laces our fingers together. "Okay," I smile to myself feeling my cheeks burn. "Let's go." I start pulling us away with Tamir behind me. I pick up speed pulling him some more, just to check on him a glance behind my shoulder at him.

"Focus on where you're going!" He tells me. "I'm fin-woah!" We bump over a hump and I turn back to the front.

"Right!" I can tell by how he's lingering behind me most of the time he's done this yes, but it's been way too long for him. I can also tell that by how tight he's holding onto my hand.

I'm beaming at his point, feeling the wind kiss my injured face with my hair blowing behind me, listening to the wind whisper in my ears the faster we go. I know he told me not to but I keep looking back, I want to see him in this sate as long as it lasts.

I start to slow us down coming to a skatepark. "Here." Only three streetlights are on, in the entrance, middle, and far back.

"Here?" I look behind me. "A skateboard park?" I watch him study around us.

"Yes." I pull him in leading us near the back and take my bag off setting it on a slope before taking my phone out and opening it to camera and click the red start button.

"You're videoing this?"

"Yes." I skate to him. "You can always look back and see this." At that I let go race off into the deep middle leaving him behind, I can hear him pushing to catch up.
