Chapter thirty-eight: "Mr. Hubby"

"Cloud I already told you I'm fine" I try to reassure Cloud as we enter the hospital with him holding my hand tightly with our fingers interlocked together

"We never know what might happen to you, your entire family trusted me in taking care of you and if they find out that you fainted they're going after my head"
There was a hint of fear mixed in with his voice like he learned that the hard way

Curious eyes of bystanders watched as we pass by
Can't blame them, Cloud was too eye-catching

He brought me to a desk and asked the nurse how much was a checkup and an admission

My eyes went wide before I pull his hand "I don't need to be admitted"

I did all I could to give him a sad face and he lost, Cloud sighed before giving me a thin smile "Fine"

He faced the nurse and asked, "How much is for a check-up?"

The nurse answered his reply and now we were in a waiting room with other people in line, the waiting room was awkwardly quiet even though the TV was showing a game show
I'm mostly being awkward when people give me judge looks between me and Cloud

I was indeed way out of his league but the no matter how small the odds are, this person still managed to fall head over heels in love with me

A granny was sitting across from us at a small table and she have a smile on her face which showed the wrinkles near her eye "What are your names?" she asked us politely in a sweet way

Cloud returned the smile "I'm Cloud and this is my girlfriend Penelope" he proudly showed me to the grandma
The way he introduced me is like how a kid is so proud of finding a pretty rock then showing it to his parents

She chuckled a little "You two remind me of my younger years with my husband" her eyes shone when she reminisced about her past

Her face turned sad before hiding it with a grin "So what brings you two here?"

"My girlfriend fainted yesterday due to forgetting to eat her breakfast and lunch"

The grandma gasped "You should be careful dear" she spoke to me in a motherly "How could you have a baby if you keep forgetting your meals" she added and I almost choked if it wasn't for Cloud patting my back
Ma'am, it's too early to be talking about that

Before I could correct her the husband arrived with two cups of coffee and handed one to the grandma, the grandpa glanced at us then asked his wife "Who are they?"

"They're a couple that I just wanted to chat with" she answered before sipping her cup of coffee

The grandpa observed us then our hands right after, he gave out a hearty laugh "I see the fella popped the question huh?"
What question?

Cloud followed his line of sight and it landed on the new promise rings that were located on our ring fingers, I was about to speak but Cloud spoke first "I did" he grinned widely

The grandma squealed excitedly like an excited little girl "I get a feeling that your future children would be wonderful, right hon?"

The grandpa nodded at her

The nurse from the inside of the clinic called for my name and I stood up then got in the room with Cloud following me from behind, we heard the grandpa call for Cloud so I got in first and the nurse closed the door

The doctor was finishing up signing some papers before looking at me "Hello Ms. Price, I'm Dr. Sid"

I shook his hand before sitting on a chair across from his desk that was flooded with portfolios and papers stacked on top of each other making a tower
