Chapter sixty-seven: "More Natural"
"Penelope!" Cheryl screamed happily once we exited the airport, she gave me a tight bear hug
Yesterday we did quite a lot to enjoy our time together with our friends because spending even a day together is something rare now, we tried to cherish the moment as we took a group photo in the living room in Cloud's penthouse
I hugged Cheryl back
I felt so exhausted from this trip
"Good to know you are still alive without me" I joked before I see Paul waving at us in his car. Cheryl blew a raspberry and rolled her eyes
"I can survive in isolation but what I can't do is that I thought I am supposed to be isolated, nobody can tell me how scary it is to know you are not alone when you are supposed to be" she then shivered at the thought
Cloud pulled my hand to Paul's car in the parking lot, the guys put the luggage at the back while me and Cheryl hopped into the car
Cheryl pulled out her phone and showed me the video that the media posted about the wedding "I have never seen you look so gorgeous in emerald color"
"Thanks! My aunt chose the color for me"
I was planning to choose the black dress but Aunt Laborè said that if I chose that as a bridesmaid then it would look more like a funeral since Caramia had already chosen black
Cheryl then scrolled down on her phone and showed something to me, I read what the article says "Theodor Marshall dances with future daughter-in-law Penelope Price"
"Daughter in law my ass" I mumbled under my breath
"What was that?" Cloud suddenly asked me from behind and I jumped up in surprise causing me to hit my head on the ceiling of the car
"Hey! I paid good money for this car" Paul checked if there was a dent at the ceiling in the interior of the car
Cheryl gave him the look "Our friend is hurt and you're only worried about the car?"
Paul, you're in trouble with Cheryl again
Paul made a thin line with his lips and sighed "Cheryl, I can see that Penelope is hurt but please just let me be worried about my car?"
She narrowed her eyes at him "And if this same damn car hits me at the road then I guess you would check the car first"
Never have I seen a man more quicker to restate his words than Paul does when he sees Cheryl's face being disappointed in him
"What? NO!"
His full accent became more clear to hear once he tried to reason with grumpy Cheryl
Once Cloud enters the car I rested my head on his shoulder until we just became background characters to the bickering couple at the front of the car
The traffic was extremely heavy today
Just my luck when I'm this hungry and tired
It took us almost 2 hours to reach our first destination which was Cloud's home, he kissed me on the cheek "See you later Angel"
I waved goodbye to him as he pulled out his luggage at the back before entering the entrance of the building to get to the penthouse
The rest of the ride was just all of us enjoying the radio music before arriving back at the girl's dorm
By this time I'm sure everybody is already updated on that wedding thing
I wouldn't be surprised anymore if somebody walked up to me and asked if I was the girl in the photo
It was nighttime and it was windy today, all 3 of us exited the car and Paul helped me bring up my luggage to the dorm room
