Chapter seventy-nine: "Christmas Shopping"
A few days later, me and Cloud decided to go Christmas shopping to buy gifts for our families. Of course, I was still salty about the greeting exchange between me and his dad but I tend to not be too bitter when it comes to Christmas
"How about this one?" I held up a fighter jet hanging in a snow globe in front of Cloud in the kid's toy aisle, we were searching for a gift for Benjamin
Cloud looked long and hard at the snow globe in my hands "Maybe when he gets older, any 8-year-old child could break a snowglobe"
My mouth formed a pout "But what would I get to a little boy who has a lot of toys? Christmas is also his Birthday" I sighed as I set the snow globe gently back down to its original spot
With Christmas rolling around, I doubt Benji would like my gift because his relatives would give him better onesI bit the inside of my cheeks and checked deeper in the kids you section
Without any luck, I couldn't find a good gift that I can give to Benjamin. It's almost like giving gold to a rich person
Cloud sensed my distress "How about you knit him a nice sweater? It's the cold season and I'm sure he would appreciate it. Benjamin is raised to be thankful for whatever gift he received whether it is expensive or not"
My face turned to my boyfriend who has both of his hands on the handle of the push art with all the Christmas gifts inside
"Do you think he would like it? I'm still getting a hang of knitting and I'm not that great"
I knitted Cloud a nice beanie hat weeks ago but since I haven't mastered it much there was now a small hole that formed in the center of the hatCloud still appreciated my efforts and assisted me in fixing the hole on the beanie hat
"Then what on earth could I give to him?"
"Then gift him on something that you're good at" he suggested
I threw my head back and think harder than I ever could in a mock exam that my professor gave us on Monday. We stood there, well, Cloud stood beside me while I was in deep thought
As soon as my eyes landed on the snowglobe that I suggested what was supposed to be Benjamine's gift, my eyes quickly sparkled with an idea. My hand grabbed the snow globe again and carefully placed it in the shopping cart leaving Cloud confused since he did suggest that it was not a great idea to gift an 8-year-old child a fragile thing
"I have an idea but I need to borrow your connections, is that alright?"
He grinned at me and handed me his phone "I have a lot of contacts, just find whichever person you needed love"
"Thank you and by the way, does Benjamin like music?"
He nodded to me in response "He loves Mom's lullabies to him"

After me and Cloud finished shopping, we both planned to go eat at a restaurant for dinner
"Aren't you gonna share with me your idea Angel?" he fixed his seating position as he dusted off some snow on his shoulders when we entered the restaurant
When we reached our table, I sat down and leaned towards him with both elbows rested flat on the table "I think you would immediately know"
He furrowed his brows with confusion "I'm not sure what you are trying to do"
I asked Cloud for his phone and I pulled out my pen in my coat pocket, don't ask, I got used to putting it in there when I needed to write down something. There was a napkin on the table so I took one and called Sophia
