Chapter ninety-eight: "Daisies And Rainbows"

New year, nothing could surprise me more than knowing it's already New year and celebrating it with my family and friends

Cloud decided to not attend his family's New year countdown since he feel like he is gonna be out of place

"Love, are you sure you don't want to join my family's New year party?" I asked him over the phone while I was busy mixing the ingredients

The entire household was busy especially the kitchen since we were very serious if it comes to New year and a New year we need a feast
For our big stomachs of course

"Angel I don't want to ruin your entire family's mood by me because I'm being sullen right now"
Liar

I can't just let him start a New year being alone up there in his penthouse

Cloud chuckled "I think we can call later because it's pretty noisy in the background and you're probably busy"
Of course, I don't want to end the call but it was hard talking to Cloud while running around the kitchen

With a lot of hesitation in me, I just sighed and said "Sure, I'll call you later. Love you"

"Love you too" then he hung up

My eyes stared at my phone on the table right after the call. It left me trying to figure out a way that I can help Cloud enjoy the New year

My sisters exchanged glances at each other once they notice how I feel lost at the moment, Ella grabbed the bowl and the whisk from my hands "How about you go help Dad in buying fruits at the supermarket?"

Cara nodded "That'll keep you busy a bit without over whisking the cream" then the rest of my sisters giggled

"But what about you guys?" I asked

Mamita Daphne and Granny Rita chuckled at me

"C'mon dear, this kitchen is full of busy women while men are busy cleaning the house. I think we have enough help so we need someone to get out so we can get at least a small space to breathe" Granny Rita joked

"But-" "Off you go now, your Dad is getting the car out of the garage" Mamita Daphne proceeded to push me out of the kitchen, and on my way to the door I saw Mom getting in

Mom was busy overlooking all of my uncles who were her brothers and Dad's brothers helping her clean the house

She handed me my coat that was hung on the coat rack beside her then patted my head as she walked by me to enter the kitchen. Dad got the car out of the garage and I hurriedly picked up my pace to reach the car in time before he plans to leave without me

The car was quiet and Dad quickly noticed my worry written on my face like a huge permanent red marker "You ok kiddo?"

I shook my head then buried my face in the palm of my hands "Dad I'm worried"

He took a quick look at me by turning his head and then focusing his attention back on the road "So what's wrong?"

My head leaned on the car window "Cloud is gonna celebrate New year all alone"
I don't know why but my family always believed that celebrating New year alone is gonna bring bad luck which is why our house right now is packed with people

This belief in my family has been around for a long and even though me and my sisters don't believe it, celebrating New year with people you love is still amazing

Dad stopped the car at the side of the road and tapped his finger at the steering wheel like he was in deep thought

"Dad?" I called out to him which startled the heck out of him
He must be in deep thought
