Raise

Chapter one hundred six: "Raise"

The driver drove us straight to the manor

"Why on earth would he summon us the moment we just landed?" I asked Cloud whose eyes were glued to his phone with furrowed brows

"I dunno, he hasn't been replying to my messages" he tried contacting anyone from the manor but coincidentally they were at some place other than the manor

We both leaned back in the backseat

My fingers started tapping on the armrest next to the window "He better not start a fight" I grumbled under my breath while looking out of the car window as we passed by houses and buildings

I felt Cloud lay a gentle hand on my shoulder so I glanced at him, he only had a small smile with a "Don't worry" look in his lovely forest green eyes that shine brightly when the sunlight hits it

A hand of mine hovered over his that lays on my shoulder in assurance "I'm not gonna beat him up if that's what you're worried about"
Cloud soon found out that I beat the crap out of his father and uncle, he learned it by accident when I try to go near his uncle to grab some snacks but he flinched when I got too close

The scenery started to become familiar once we were getting close to the manor

"I don't know why but I can sense that something is not right" Cloud spoke while unbuckling his seatbelt
Figures, he's used to this type of life so, of course, he can sense it

Cloud stepped out of his side of the car and ran around to beat the bodyguard at opening my side of the car and help me step out. The bodyguard was left puzzled but shrugged and took a step back
Here is his competitive side again

I gave Cloud a small look before turning to the bodyguard "Sorry about that"

He grinned "No problem Miss, it's no problem when Sir Cloud does the gentleman move to his lover"

This perked Cloud's ears so he faced the bodyguard and pointed his finger at him "What's your name?"

"It's Davis Walder"

Cloud nodded and a satisfied smile "Yup, he's getting a raise from me" he winked at me before sliding a hand behind my back and started to push me into the manor

"I didn't know you could give a raise other than your Dad" my bewilderment struck me again

"Yeah, me and my siblings apart from Benjamin have money we earned on our own so we can give them a raise if we wanted"

At the corner of my eye, Davis started giving high fives to the other bodyguards and started doing a little happy dance with them

The main doors opened and we were greeted by Sophia who was relieved to see us "Finally you guys arrived!" she grabbed our wrists and pulled us into the manor before closing the main doors again

Cloud turned around to face Sophia "Mom what's going on?"
I heard his accent come out when he became worried

Sophia rubbed her arms and took a deep exhale with her eyes closed "It's best if you two see it yourselves" she tilted her head to the 1st living room of the manor

It's not like I'm being fed to a lion or anything but with all this tension and worried faces they've had I'm sure something bad happened that it's making my heart race to the point if I didn't know how to control it, I might've faint

Our feet slowly takes us to the doors of the 1st living room and when we opened it we were not prepared to see someone inside with a sly smirk on her face

"Bianca? What on earth are you doing here?" I asked as my hand clenched in anger

She looks at her newly manicured nails and yes I knew it because the last time I saw her admiring her nails the color of it was blue but now it's red

"Why? Is it illegal? Me and my father have a good reason to be here" she spoke to me in an ill manner like she wasn't taught to at least fake respect for their face

Ava, who was at the corner of the room observing everything had a face full of disgust that she had to put down her piping hot tea to calm her nerves

A man sat in front of Theo who looks 2x younger than he is from those stress lines on his face
Probably raising a bitchy daughter like Bianca

Theo looks at Cloud who walked up to him "Why did you call?" he asked his Dad who looks up at him from his seat on one of the sofas

The tips of his fingers slid a paper on the coffee table to him "You should tell them, I'm gonna die from stress and risk my chances of seeing my future grandchildren" he rubbed one side of his time before leaning back on the sofa to close his eyes for a moment

Cloud read what was on the paper carefully and his eyes turned dark once he finishes "What. The. Fuck?" his voice so low that he must be on the brink of getting furious right in front of the man who looks like the older guy version of Bianca

The older guy gave his hand to Cloud "Greetings I'm Harold and this is-" "I don't give a flying fuck or a damn" Cloud cutted him off

Harold held a good stance and kept calm right in front of Cloud who was raging that I could see a vein show at the side of his forehead. I took a seat beside Theo who gladly let his wife give him a small massage while not caring if her son was saying curse words

"Why don't you take a seat first son" Harold suggested to Cloud

Cloud didn't listen but when I have my hand touched his and looked into his eyes while saying "I think you should take a seat first" he then listened and sat beside me

Bianca rolled her eyes before whispering something to her Dad while they both eyes me from the other side of the coffee table

I was curious to know what was going on but Cloud wouldn't let me take a peek at the paper that was given to him, his glare never left Harold "I'm not gonna do this, even if my father forces me I won't do it"

Theo immediately shook his head when I quickly darted my eyes at him "Nope I won't force him, I fear for my life"

"But Theo, this is gonna help your business empire grow even more than before" Harold tried to persuade Theo but Theo kept looking at me and shook his head

Then Harold sets down a lot of plans and future projects that could benefit the Marshalls more than the Diasmo's who offered the plan

"With this, you could almost have the world at your thumb. It's only a simple thing to do so we could set an agreement of partnership" he added with his nose held up high thinking he is so proud of his plan while Theo looks at him with eyes of no interest

We all knew Theo as the guy who loves to take care of his business but during those years right after I slap the reality in him, he started to realize that he and his wife are getting older along with their children so he just takes care of his business while balancing on being with Sophia

He is somewhere on the ok side with all of his children including Cloud these days but of course, you couldn't remove his desire for the family riches to grow even more

Cloud shook his head "No matter how much you try to convince my father, in the end, I'm the one who gets to decide" he then held my hand and intertwined our fingers I felt him give my hand a small squeeze

With angry dark eyes and with a low voice he said "I'm not gonna marry Bianca"
