Chapter eighty-eight: "Auction"

After we chatted with the group for an hour and a half, it was time for me and Cloud to visit his side of the family for Christmas since it is Benjamin's birthday today

We said our goodbyes before hopping on Cloud's car

"You got Benji's gift Angel?" he asked me while ge was busy starting the engine after inserting the keys to the keyhole

I turned my head to check the backseat where I put the gift "Yup, it's sitting there all nice and snug"

Before he started the gas he turned to me "Are you sure you can do this?"

My hand went up to cup one side of his cheeks "I'll be fine Cloud, just go and enjoy celebrating Christmas with your brothers and cousins alright?"

He furrowed his brows and hesitated when nodding to answer my question

"That's my Cloud, now let's go. I'm sure your Mom is waiting for us"

It felt like a short drive to reach the manor but I guess when you're nervous your mind is easily occupied so you don't keep track of the time that much

The car slowly enters the opened gates by the guards and there I sense a huge felting of pressure but I didn't let it get to me so it wouldn't show on my face

Cloud checked my face again before slowly hitting the brakes to stop the car in front of the entrance doors "Angel I'm worried for you"

"I'm worried that you are worried, lighten up or else Santa is sad" I cracked a joke to relieve his stress and it looked like it worked because he took a deep breath and smiled at me

He tapped his fingers at the steering wheel and carefully analyzed me "If you ever feel like you wanna get out" he held my hand and tapped at my palms 3 times "Do this then we'll leave"

I smiled up at him and cupped his hand "This signal also applies to you, feel free to use it when you don't wanna act like a golden child"

Cloud chuckled then raised his brow "Seriously?"

I winked at him "Serious"

We both nodded at each other before exiting the car, I reached for Benji's gift in the back seat while Cloud handed his keys to a butler to park his car in the parking area of the manor

One arm snaked around my waist so I looked up at his handsome face which was focused up ahead

We entered the manor, up at the grand staircase was Sophia who was thrilled again to see us after the wedding
I think by this time, Juliet and Romeo are finished announcing the pregnancy and are heading over to the mansion right now

Sophia led us to the 2nd living room in the manor and my jaw dropped at the magnificence of the decorations, I tilted my head back to see all three huge chandeliers in the room are all lit up with a giant Christmas tree near the corner beside the fireplace

The size of the 2nd living room was fit for a close huge family occasion, not so small like the 1st living room and not too big like the ballroom

In the middle of this big room is Benjamin playing with his little cousins either around his age or younger than him

"Penelope!" Ava greeted me with a cheerful voice "Merry Christmas dear"

A wide grin formed on my face "Merry Christmas to you too Ava"

I carefully gave my gift to Benjamin whose eyes glittered even more than before. He looked up at me before instantly surprising me with a hug and a sweet thank you
