They Couldn't Wait

Chapter one hundred sixteen: "They Couldn't Wait"

"So why are you holding a party today?" Adeline asked me while we walked together side by side on a pebble pathway that leads up to an open meadow where the party would be held

I could only grin at her and she sighed "I want to be in bed right now"

"Do you want me on the bed too?" Nick asked her while walking behind us. She gave Nick a side glance "No"

He shrugged and kept following us anyways
These two are getting along quite well...I'm not sure though but let's pretend it is

We've reached the destination and Cloud greeted us "Everybody is here, shall we start?" he asked me with a bead of sweat that fell down on the side of his face. My hand reached for my handkerchief in my pocket and dried his sweat

I nodded and pulled out my camera "I'm excited"

"So do I" he smiled happily before pulling me to the center where the tables surround a small wooden stage

Our family and friends enjoyed the party and the view along with the light breeze in the meadow
It took us a long time to find a venue since Cloud insisted we should just use a huge venue at a hotel but I declined and opted for a more fun party outside

After eating I told all of them we wanted to take a huge picture

"Nah I'm good" Theo spoke out but Sophia gave him the look which made him sigh and then follow her to stand beside me for the picture

"Why would Auntie want a huge picture?" Tia asked Juliet, she smiled down at her daughter
She is emotionally intelligent but she is still a child in the end so she is clueless about what is happening

Mom and Dad stood beside Cloud while Sophia and Theo stood beside me. Cloud grinned and ran off to grab the camera to point it at us "You guys ready?"

"Can all of you huddle closer? My beautiful face couldn't be seen!" Cara exclaimed at the side who was ready to pose

Jane was left scratching her head "Is it ready? My legs are tired"

I put a hand on her shoulder "Don't worry, it'll be done in a minute. WE'RE READY CLOUD!!" I yelled and he gave me a thumbs up before starting the count

With the camera pointed at us, he said "1...2...3...say Penelope is pregnant!"

It took a while but the words started to settle in especially to my father

Daisy said "Penelope- WHAT!!"

Dad twisted his head at me in shock "WHAT THE FUCK?!". Theo patted Dad's back like he knew the feeling, Mom also tried to comfort Dad too

Peter dropped his juice to the ground "Is that true?!" he sounded more shocked than Mira and Max who were left gasping

While everybody was still processing the news, there at the very left side stood Aiden with a soft smile on his face. My view of him was cut short when all of my sisters and the Marshall brothers started running to me

Adeline started touching my stomach "Damn you got pregnant before marriage"

Dustin chuckled "They couldn't wait until after marriage"

Benjamin crossed his arms "I knew something was strange when one of the strawberry jars at home went empty" those words left me making a nervous laugh

Cloud came back after giving the camera to one of the butlers who set the party venue in the meadow, he felt relaxed since both hands are shoved inside his pockets
