Chapter thirty-nine: "Two Of Us"
I crossed my arms at Cloud who just entered the penthouse "You're a bit controlling" I complained to him
His hand was holding the shoulder strap of his bag while the other hand was carrying his books "You'll get used to it"
"But it is too much for you to contain me within the penthouse" I answered as I followed him to the bedroom where he puts down his books and bag then proceeded to remove his shirt in front of me
He glanced at me with such serious eyes "You grew up sleeping a lot and when you don't sleep much you faint, I can't let that happen again"
That's because I was too tired you protective idiot!There was something so hot about Cloud being serious and protective but I can't let that shift my focus on the situation right now
"You're going to Paris which means you will leave me here alone, I need to at least get out of the penthouse as much as I want!" I tried my best to persuade him but every time I try he just pretended to shrug it off
Frustration bubbled inside me that I let out to him "If you're going to ignore me I might as well ignore you"
Something within Cloud snapped that he walked up to me then threw me on the bed with my hands pinned on top of my head, his eyes were dark not from lust but something scarier
AngerThe small fear that I have inside appeared to show itself in my eyes and Cloud caught sight of it
Once he realized what he did, the dark eyes suddenly disappeared and he took a huge step back away from me with one hand covering his face "I-I need to be alone" he hurriedly walked out of the room and locked himself in the private library leaving me confused
The twins, Alice, and Daisy saw what happened and they twisted their heads toward me "What happened?" Daisy asked while being seated beside Mason who was reading a book
I try to speak but his actions left me speechless that there were no words that could explain what happened back there
Oliver removed a lollipop from his mouth "Just let him cool down, he tends to be like that back at home too" he assured me
My eyes glanced at the door where Cloud locked himself inside, one of my hands touched the hardwood and slowly my hand formed a first so I could knock on the door "Cloud?"
He wasn't answeringI tried to knock again but there was no answer
Daisy and Alice looked at each other before giving me worried faces
"Why don't you join us for a game of Jenga? I'm sure it will take your mind off out of this situation" Alice suggested to me
I rubbed both of my arms and turned my head to look at the door once more
I'm not sure but I guess Cloud needs to cool his head a little"Maybe just one game"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After playing Daisy and Alice left the penthouse so they could rest back in their hotel rooms and the twins were already dead asleep on the couch, I brought out 2 blankets to cover them before I headed to the kitchen to make myself a cup of warm coffee for this chilly night
It has been 2 hours and Cloud is not yet out of the private library
A small sigh escaped my lips as I grabbed the mug then sat on the outdoor couch so I could watch the city lights
Maybe what I told Cloud was a bit too muchWhen you are up here it feels like the world moves slowly and that you could feel relaxed by the soft breeze hitting you as the moon gently shines down on the city with the stars accompanying it up in the sky
