I close my laptop as I read the news. It was true. Austin's retiring. All of these years and all of these memories flash through my head. I can't believe I've spent a life time loving him. I lick my lips, then walk into my room. I glance around my house to make sure none of the kids or my husband was home before proceeding to my closet. I turn on the light and reach up to the shelf on the top, grabbing a box full of my teenage years. I sit down cross legged and open the top of the dusty shoebox. A smile hits me as I think about the good times these items brought back to my mind. My old shirts, hoodies, poster and concert tickets. Gosh, I was so dedicated.

A small tear leaves my eye, realizing it's all over now. How could time slip away so fast?

I let out a sigh and close the box. I don't care what others think, I know I will be a Mahomie forever. Who knows, maybe Austin will do a concert when we're all 80 and all of us will get one last hurrah at the fangirl life. A Mahomie can only hope!
