Right now, Lacey is sitting in she and Luke's dorm while he's coming back from the Wolverines' game that they lost. The two of them and all the Wolverine fans both know he won't have a shot at redemption as he'll be signing with the New Jersey Devils any day now.

Luke said that Lacey didn't need to travel all the way to New Jersey with him to live with him, but the girl insisted insisted. Michigan wouldn't be the same without him. It wouldn't feel like home. As she was deep in her thoughts, she didn't hear the door open.

Luke's POV (Still third person, his view)

We lost. This was my last game as a Wolverine before I sign with the Devils and join Jack, and I blew it. I failed myself, I failed the team, and I failed the fans. Right now, I'm sitting in my stall with my head in my hands, elbows resting on my knees.

I'm the last one in here, but I can't find the courage to leave. This has been my home for the last 2 years. It's all gonna be gone. I still had my gear on from waist down, so I decided to get the rest on and go back onto the ice.

I grabbed a couple pucks and went into the empty arena, shooting pucks into the net. The only sounds heard was the sound of the pucks, my stick, and my skates on the ice. I was the last one in the building, and I knew that when I looked over to the bench and saw the keys to lock the doors. Security must've left them.

I continued what I was doing, but I was caught off guard by the sound of another pair of skates on the ice.

Lacey's POV

"Lacey!" A voice shouted from the door. I turned my head to see Nolan standing in my doorway, with the spare key I gave him incase anything happened to Luke or I.

"Hey. What's up? Where's Luke?" I questioned him once I noticed that Luke wasn't there.

"That's the thing." He said. I looked up with a confused look. "We don't know where he went."

"What- what do you mean you don't know where he is?"

Nolan sighed before speaking. "After the game, Luke took all the blame onto him. He was saying that he should've played better and that it was his fault we lost. We all left and waited for him before security told us to leave, so we did. But security wouldn't tell us anything, but they know something."

"Shit." I mumbled. There is only one thing that I could see him doing right now. "Come with me. I'll need your help."

*Time skip, arena.*

After I told Nolan to get all his gear on, I went out to the bench after tying a pair of skates and saw Luke skating around the ice, gear on. I stepped onto the ice and I saw his head snap up at the sound.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

Luke's POV

"What are you doing here?" I asked Lacey once I saw her step onto the ice. I took off my helmet and put it on the bench.

"A little birdie told me you never came out of the dressing room after the game." She replied. "I was worried, but when I was told security told the team to leave, I knew you were still here." EW omfg that's so cringy but bare with me.

I stood in silence just looking at her. How does she know me so well?

"That's why I invited someone." She added. I looked up when I heard the dressing room door open and saw none other than Nolan Moyle in full gear. He stepped onto the ice and passed me my helmet.

"For old times sake?" He asked me, heading towards center ice while Lacey took off her jacket to reveal a black and white stripped shirt. She grabbed a puck and put the others to the side, skating to center ice and blowing a whistle.

"Lets go Luke!" She shouted at me. A small smile crept onto my face as I skated over, getting into position.

"Once a Wolverine, always a Wolverine." Nolan smirked at me before Lacey dropped the puck.

***

I love this. I planned on ending it with him signing, but I like the once a Wolverine ending more.
