One Post - Leo Carlsson

People say that one post won't do anything.

The Anaheim Ducks had finally arrived the night before at the Marriot hotel across from the Rogers Centre in Edmonton for their game today against the Oilers. Leo was the last one off of the bus, taking a couple pictures with some fans. Unbeknownst to him, a girl his age was on the second floor of the hotel.

All that Eleana wanted to do was go down and take a single picture with her favourite hockey player, Leo Carlsson. She's been a Ducks fan for her entire life, but her parents don't approve of it. They're big hockey fans, especially of the Oilers because they're from Edmonton, so when she told them they immediately disapproved.

They're at the hotel because family in town is staying there. The pool in the hotel is all the way up on the fifth floor, so that's where they were at. As they were heading across the hallway to another building beside the hotel she spotted Leo leaving the bus and asked her parents if she could take a picture with him. Of course, however, they said no. So she resorted to taking a picture from the window.

Once they got home, Eleana posted her photo on Instagram expecting it to get no recognition. After that she got dressed into warmer clothing for the hockey game and threw on her 'Carlsson' jersey. Her father gave her a disappointed look while her mother didn't bare to look at her. She just looked down at the ground and walked silently out to the car.

Leo smiled at the thought of being recognized. Not many people really care about him over players like McTavish, so the feeling of someone noticing him brought a smile to his face. He and the team are getting ready to walk over to the arena right now since it's about 4:30 and they need to be there no later than 5 for pre-game warm ups.

Upon his arrival, he was greeted by a few puck bunnies outside the doors throwing themselves at him and some of the other guys. Obviously they ignored them, not knowing who may be around. He changed into his conditioning clothing and walked out to the hallway where they were beginning a game of sewer ball.

Around 6, they all went back to the locker room and changed into their gear. They lined up behind Gibby in the tunnel and walked/ran out onto the ice at the buzzer. As Leo circled around he recognized a girl sitting in a glass seat in his jersey.

It was the girl who made the post! He had looked at a few of the posts on her page and she seemed to be quite pretty and very kind. However, her parents seemed to be quite strict. Lots of her posts captions said that she was taking selfies since she wasn't allowed to leave or something similar to that.

He shook his head to get the thoughts to leave but they wouldn't go. The girl looked up at him and smiled softly. His face grew a smile in return and he nodded subtly. He skated over to her and flipped a puck up and over. The brunette's eyes widened in joy as she caught it. She mouthed a "thank you" towards him, and he nodded in response before he skated off to finish warming up.

*post game. THE GAME JUST STARTED SO THE FINAL SCORE IS NOT ACCURATE.*

"WOOO!" Trevor yelled as his teammates walked in. He and Jamie came along because they felt like it, so they were standing in the room waiting for the team. "EASY 4-3 WIN! LETS GO DOSTAL!" The guys all yelled as Lukas Dostal blushed out of embarrassment.

Leo laughed along as he started taking off his gear. Jamie walked over and sat down next to the young hockey player. Leo sent the slightly older hockey player a confused look but continued taking off his shoulder and elbow pads.

"You look distracted." Jamie pointed out. "What's on your mind, kid?" He asked Leo with a hand on his shoulder.

"Well, there's this girl." Leo started but cut himself off. "No, it doesn't really matter." He sighed, shaking his head.

"Do you want me to call Trevor over?" Knowing how persuasive the defenseman can be at pulling out information, Leo shook his head and continued.

"Uh, she made a post about me. It felt good to know that I have people that are fans of me, so I looked at her page a bit more, and she's so pretty and so kind." He explained to Jamie, who nodded along. "The only thing is that her parents don't seem to appreciate the fact that she's an Anaheim fan." He sighed.

The two continued talking, Jamie giving him some advice, and they all went to load back out onto the bus. Right as Leo was going onto the bus he spotted her. Eleana Tremblay. He told the guys he'd be right back and walked up to the girl. She smiled at him and walked away from her parents, despite their protests.

"Hi." Leo spoke shyly. She blushed and smiled.

"Hi. I'm Eleana." She introduced quietly. He held a hand out.

"Leo Carlsson. However, I assume you know that." He smirked, a boost of confidence suddenly coming over him.

The two talked before Trevor yelled for him to, and I quote, hurry his ass up and get her number already. A light blush came over his face out of embarrassment. He turned back to the girl who was laughing quietly.

"Oi shut up." He spoke in Swedish. I'm being lazy and don't wanna translate haha. The girl laughed, understanding the words perfectly.

"Well, I guess you need to go?" Eleana spoke, sadness in her tone. Leo nodded but spoke before she could leave.

"Can I maybe have your number? You know, to keep in contact with you after I leave? Maybe to also see you more?" He asked cautiously. She nodded quickly with a smile.

They exchanged numbers and Leo got on the bus to drive to the airport while Eleana went back to her parents, who held looks on their faces that screamed disappointment. But in that moment, she didn't care.

But if you try hard enough, one post can make anything possible.
